I was today years old when I found out that Floyd was 2 years older than Manny. That makes all of the nonsense about Floyd ducking Manny obsolete. How can you wait for someone to get old, if you are getting older? Not to mention a 2 year age gap is much bigger at age 38 than at age 32. The older you get, the faster you age. Floyd was willing to fight Pac at age 38, the same age Ali was a shell vs. Holmes, Tyson was a shell of himself, Holyfield was losing to bums like John Ruiz, Marciano was long retired, etc.

Ring age. Pac's had many more fights, had been through many wars that would permanently damage and change a fighter, had much more wear and tear, and oh yeah, he was brutally iced.

Floyd was BY FAR the fresher fighter and much closer to his prime than Pac was.

Froch was in his late 30s when he knocked mid 20's Groves into the ropes in front of 79,999 at Wembley

It was always going to happen because the money was too great to pass up. It was a question of when rather than if. Floyd didn't duck Manny, but he made sure there was as slim a chance of possible of Manny winning by timing it as late as possible.

And this may be why we might not see Crawford-Spence. The money isn't there for the execs to feed off of. And the risk of losing is too great for both of them.

Chronological age isn't as important as your biological age or in regards to boxing your ring age.

Sure Mayweather was technically 2 years older if we're talking chronological age. But Pacquiao's ring age was older. He turned pro almost 2 years before Mayweather, when they fought Pac had fought 17 more times, Mayweather had also retired and taken almost 2 years out of the ring. In terms of ring age Pac was at least 3-6 years older due to his more active years and greater number of fights.

A good example of this is Lewis and Bowe. Lewis was 2 years older than Bowe but didn't peak until 97 when he was 32, while Bowe despite being younger was already shot by the age of 29.

There were about a half dozen articles out back then stating that exact thing: Floyd would wait for pac to slow down or look worse.

And that's exactly what floyd did. Hell...this is the same guy who "retired" when WW was at it's best in years.

Everyone doesn't age the same. People go through different things. I'm astounded that you have to be told this.

Just haters looking to detract from Floyd at every turn

They never got to see him layed out in a coma in the ring, so are left bitter with his success

Are you saying Antonio Tarver is actually better than a prime Roy Jones because he was older than him?

Pac was beating top 5 WWs 5 years after he fought Floyd.

    He hadn't slowed that much!

Pac looked NOTHING like how he fought when he beat Thurman (Who was inactive as well). He was not nearly as exlposive as he once was.
