In this video above, there two things people believe. It's either Duhaupas's had a helluva chin or Wilder's power is overrated. Some say Duhaupas actually minimalized Wilder's power punches which I find totally BS. Every punch Wilder threw in fight were fight ending punches. Some say overrated becuz it took THAT much punches to stop him. It didn't even dropped him and he still looked like he could've last the distance. That's somewhat a convincing argument. Idk, what do you think?

It reminded me of the Takam stoppage with Joshua, where it seemed more like a political thing to maintain their shiny knockout records than one based on mercy. Funny enough, Povetkin actually starched both Duhaupus and Takam. But I wouldn't say that it exposed Wilder's power per se, but it helped expose the lack of diversity in his delivery of that power.

No, nothing was exposed. One bout against one guy proves nothing.

It's an old adage that some guys just can't be knocked out on a given night. Dempsey, Shavers, Marciano, Foreman... none of them KO'd everyone.

I think wilder hits pretty damn hard regardless of the occasional struggle getting a man out of there

I think you're obsessed with power, JawBreaker. You're the JR Ewing of this forum.

He was power crazy megalomaniac from the TV show Dallas, just in case you're not my age.

Not at all, mate. You're very knowledgeable and must have read/watched a lot in that two years. And I'm sorry if I came across as snippy (not sure if I'm having my plonker pulled here. I'm not used to other posters being as humble as you were in your response!).

I just noticed that you engage a lot in discussions on power punching. Whatever you're most interested in is your business, not mine. And if it's Bob Satterfield's power that floats your boat, that's great. Cheers fella.

Thnx! I sorta lack the "History" part in boxing. Like why didn't he get the title shot? or did Marciano ducked Valdes? something like that

I think it's a bit of both. Duhaupas is one tough SOB and Wilder's power isn't as galactic as some people think.

I agree with the poster that said that Wilder has delivery problems. He can be kind of wild and that's no substitute for precision.

Povetkin and Tyson are what come to mind when you think of precision power punchers, guys that set up their shots and land the one they want instead of just spraying and praying like Wilder so often does.
