Foreman hit too hard and was a FAR better finisher than Deontay. Fury would foozle him a few rounds then get knocked cold.
Agreed. He ain't just walking through Foreman like many of these posters are claiming. Nobody does. While stylistically it favours Fury, Fury is no Ali & didn't have his durability or Ring IQ. Here's what I said on this matchup While I think Fury would win, it'll be a turbulent ride, where he'll have to make adjustments to win otherwise he'll get stopped.
Foreman stops Fury. Cuts ring too well. Powerful body puncher. Infinitely better chin and punching power, and is a damn good finisher unlike Wilder. Tyson is laughably overrated right now. Great heavy h2h tho.
Fury puts on a dancing show and pitter pat jabs Foreman to a very dull UD. No way would Fury engage and he has the reach, stamina and skill to keep Foreman at bay.
I would favor George Foreman in this fight, but I wouldn't bet a lot on it. If Fury strictly boxed him, he would have a chance to get the decision. If he tried to muscle George around at some point, I don't think that would go well for Tyson. I suspect that Fury might try that at some point.
Fury, while very skilled has only beaten one great boxer (a 39 years old Wladimir Klitschko), then caught doing peds and in the end ducked him of a rematch. If anyone is going to compare him to greats of old, he gotta go and fight top 10 boxers. He probably fought only 3-4 top 10 guys in his whole career. He is skilled sure but if he doesn't fight someone meaningful he will be known as someone who beat an old man in Klitschko and a paper champion on Wilder.
This....The over rating of this lot of ordinary Heavyweights is laughable.....Foreman in over 70 Fights and TKOd once his Chin was granite and people say Fury knocks him out.....In your dreams maybe.....Prime Foreman by TKO.!!!
Fury would need to fight a near perfect fight. He doesn't hit hard enough to hurt Foreman. He'd need to be on the move all night long. Fury is a big guy, but Foreman is freak strong. Fury won't do well if he tries to lean on Foreman to get a breather. Foreman would push him off and batter him. If the 3 knock down rule is in effect, Foreman absolutely wins.
Modern day heavyweights are mostly blown-up 70s heavyweights. They're 70s heavyweights who eat more (sometimes over-eat), lift weights, and take supplements. When Old George Foreman came back in the 90s and trained like a 90s fighter, he ended up a big heavyweight by 90s standards. George hadn't changed, except maybe getting older and flabbier. Only his training had.
