Too easy night's work. Tua beat four titlists. He never won one himself, but he was as legit as they come. Wilder...not so much.
My opinion hasn't changed. If anything the toughness Wilder showed in the Fury 3 fight makes me lean further toward a Wilder win. Tua had an incredible chin and a great leaping left hook, but he was 5'10 and had barely any success with boxers over 6'3." Wilder too long and too tall and Tua comes forward in straight lines.
Pretty much this. Wilder isn’t all that but he’s good and lanky enough to keep a guy that slow and short off of him.
A prime Tua would have a field day with this lot of Heavyweights If Ruiz can win a World Title imagine what a Prime Tua would do.!!!
I love Tua but I have to go with Wilder on stylistic grounds. Like the first Stiverne fight he'll keep things long, strafe Tua with right straights and sway out of the way of any hooks Tua launches his way. Of course Tua's got a head like a brick and probably punches even harder than Wilder, so this might be one of those weird fights where Wilder actually fights really conservatively and just contents himself to cruise to a UD.
Depends which Tua..the 220 pound monster or the 250 pound slug. I'll take early Tua all day long Older Tua... bit longer lol
Even Wilder has no chance of cracking Tua's chin, nor the boxing skills to keep him at bay. Tua by KO.
I’m a Tua fan but I think Wilder would be all wrong for him. Tua didn’t have the footwork or timing to get to Wilder. And as great as his chin was, he could be hurt. This content is protected
Interesting match up from 2 guys who arguably possessed the single biggest one shot power in their respective eras. Can Wilder back Tua up because we know Wilder is less effective on the back foot, probably not. Which means Wilder will struggle to land his big right hand with any power as he has to step into that shot to generate a lot of it's power. So can Wilder out box Tua from the backfoot? I think he could, as poor a boxer as Wilder is, Tua could be terrible when forced to try and cut off the ring. So I see a situation where either Wilder is backed up all night and wins a decision vs a frustrated Tua or Tua comes from behind to KO Wilder. So does Tua get the KO? He did so a number of times, he was capable of turning fights around with one punch and Wilder despite hanging in there with Fury isn't going to be able to handle Tua's power. We've seen Wilder caught clean a number of times and hurt and dropped over his career now, I think Tua can get to him and score a dramatic come from behind KO.
Regardless of the fact that Wilder is not technically well-honed, he has never been an easy opponent for anyone, he makes up for everything with his great shape and physical strength...
