Has the Matchroom spin ever been as bad as it is right now with these 2?

On Boxing Social the other day Hearn dismissed Avanesyan as he isn’t a big enough name now Conor is now a ‘global superstar’ but replied with a flat no when alternative opponents in Ortiz and Ennis were suggested.

Bangs on about how Benn did huge viewing figures in the US against Algieri (unlikely) meaning Avanesyan isn’t well known enough. Logic suggests 2 well known Americans of similar ages/experience would be the ‘bigger global fights’ Hearn is talking about? Nah not today lads.

Sadly there is a cohort of mugths out there that still believe everything he says!!!

These people were sucked in to believe Joshua was an elite Heavyweight boxer, the best version of Haye was fighting Bellew twice and now I have no doubt they believe Benn is the next Canelo.

You would think people would have worked out they were being scammed about 4 years ago but incredibly they still fall for the same bull.

The most frightening thing is that there are still a lot of people who trust Eddie Hearn.

    It's a joke.

Hearn is trying to make us believe that Benn is a bigger star in the US than Avanesyan. It's crazy, considering Avanesyan beat Shane Mosley and also fought Lamont Peterson. Add to that, his wins over Josh Kelly and Liam Taylor. How is Benn possibly a bigger star/draw in the US than Avanesyan?

Is it not the case that if you repeat a lie over and over, you eventually start to believe that it is true ?

    Contradicting themselves constantly too.

Hearn was pressed on his pre-Algieri ‘one more fight before Avanesyan’ comment the other day, now he’s claiming he said 1 or 2 but also says they’re looking for Benn to fight for a world title in 2022. Who are they expecting to fight for a world title?

Brother I like you cause you're muslim

But cmon. No one in the USA knows who David Avanesyan is. He has no name there. Those wba regular fights he had were very low key forgettable fights most boxing fans probably never even watched.

You’d think Edward would know better. The last time he tried cracking the US market with a Brit it ended with Joshua spitting his gum shield out and Ruiz bouncing round the ring like he’d just won a years supply of free donuts.

Americans don’t even care about their own fighters these days never mind ours.

Guys think about this logically. Hearn thinks Benn isn’t ready for Avaneysan, Ortiz or Ennis. Clearly stated this several times. At some point Benn will have to take the leap.

When this happens Hearn would prefer it to be against Ortiz for a world title in a mega fight watched by big numbers. Not agaInst Avaneysan on BT in a nothing fight as nobody but a few thousand watch.

who here would advise their fight differently. Be honest?

They are building Benn very well. And just because you boys want to see he fed to Ava you are letting it cloud your opinions

Not once did he say that. He said it got good numbers nothing more. Maybe Algieri is a bigger name in the US than Ava

Still think josh Kelly beats him. These vast improvements benn has made been against bang average or old fighters or non punchers or a mixture of the 3 varients. Will give him respect he actually fights anyone with intentions of winning and more a 60 percent ko record

I have friends who thinks that Conor Benn is an international super star in boxing because they have heard Eddie Hearn say it and that is wrong.

I can understand that Eddie Hearn would like to sell his product, but I think in the future he would be better off if he stuck to the truth a little more.

To think that he used to have a monopoly on Sky. Carl Froch, Kell Brook, AJ etc. Now he's throwing his weight behind Benn? Game changed

Hearn also says that Avanesyan is a level above what he wants for Benn’s next fight, which is fair enough really. He’s not just saying Avanesyan isn’t high profile enough.
