Until Wardley fights and beats a live opponent who knows his way round the ring and comes to win, we won’t know the answer as to how good he can be. I have my reservations, with no disrespect intended. Like many older boxing fans/enthusiasts, I have seen it all before. I genuinely hope Fabio does the business and goes on to great things. The proof is in the pudding, and Fabio hasn’t even had his starter yet. As for Hrgovic, I think he starts favourite vs Wardley.
Hrgovic with relative ease. nothing against Fabio but a white collar background doesn't match up to a proper amateur pedigree like Hrgovic has. Plus he didn't lose rounds to Molina.
There's at least 60 years of history filled full of less experienced boxers beating more experienced boxers. Likewise, there's countless boxers with good amateur backgrounds who failed in the professional ranks, with boxers who didn't have much experience in the amateur ranks doing well as professionals.
Very true, Audley and Tom Stalker spring to mind, but my personal approach is to back the better amateur if there isn't that much separating them as pros.
I’d put my house on Fisher going further than Fab judging by their sparring sessions. Wardley is a proper top guy, very athletic and I’d love to see him add to his English title but I don’t think he does. As for Wardley v Hrgovic, one’s a white collar boxer, the others an Olympian. No contest.
Wardley gets brutally KO'd imo. Don't even think he's British level sadly because he comes across as a decent guy. Hrgovic also stops Helenius earlyish but Helenius will have a bit of success as Hrgovic has shown a bit of a leaky defence so far in his pro career, but eventually catches him.
Hrgovic is too good for Wardley at present. Wardley should attempt 5o make a fight against opponent who is highly ranked but is winnable fight for him such as Helenius, Wallin, Martin and Ortiz.
