The posters in their early to mid 60s will I am sure remember being saddened by the reports of the Ramos/Carmona title fight back in the 70s, poor Mando took a bad a beating as any fighter took in the squared circle, it was as if all the years of partying, alcohol, and drug abuse all came to a head that night in that ring, by the fight the fight was stopped Mando was a frightful sight , battered, bruised, various cuts about his face, in the immediate aftermath the crowd and pundits honestly feared for his life, such was the savagery of Carmona's onslaught, he was taken from the ring in a stretcher, and rushed to the nearest hospital, with a police escort, it was hard to justify our sport at times like that.
