One thing that is quite amusing as a subtle dig, Frank keeps saying

"Dillians finally getting his shot and his biggest payday. We are just glad to have delivered for him"

Haha I'll give Frank that one! Nice dig.

Don’t think fury hates Hearn at all. Been on podcasts together and interviews etc. Also BJS was under Hearn for a bit and got his shot at canelo through him so I doubt he would be negative about him and given the friendship between him and fury I can’t see fury hating him. It’s all a bit of an act.

Yeah, it's just business at the end of the day. I'm sure there's no hard feelings between the 2 behind the scenes.

This is pretty common practice. If Fury's purse is contracted beforehand then its pretty irrelevant what his 80% of the purse bid works out at.

Didn't Fury sign a $100m 5 fight deal or something , if so his purse for this fight would be around $20m, probably a couple of million LESS in his pocket than DAZN's purse bid.

Heard a rumour Fury agreed a purse of $25m base plus upside.

So the actual bid was more like $33m and very close to what DAZN actually offered. As it’s realistically where the event is at in terms of numbers if promoted correctly.

They need either 1.5m UK buys or 1.2m UK plus 100k plus US to break even.

Not necessarily. If Fury accepted $20 million before purse bids and Matchroom's bid of $32 million would have got him $25.6 million. There's no way Fury or his team would let that $5.6 million slide. That's why I think they told Fury that he would get 80% of Matchroom's bid. Queensbury's bid was very large in order to ensure they won the rights.

I do wonder what happens if DAZN finalise the purchase of BT Sport, could the fight still end up on their platform? Or would Frank take it to Boxnation or Sky Box Office?

No chance in hell that even if a sale happened tomorrow, DAZN would control BT Sport to that extent by April. Competition authority and other regulation probably takes it til the summer, football authorities probably demand to see their seasons out first too.

Arum said BT and ESPN backed their bid so you sense there’s some guarantees involved to make it work.

Hasn't been a week as bad as this at Hearn Towers since Barry & Susan were named in Jeffrey Epsteins black book.
