Exactly. That sort of persona works when you’re winning every fight, you can shrug and tell people they’re no good and not on your level and be arrogant when you win, but at the end of the day everyone has seen plain as day that you’re very beatable. Especially Eubank, who got hammered off Groves who was past his best at the time.

 

I actually thought that Wanik guy with the huge shorts he fought last time was outboxing him for much of it.

 

He and his advisors have clearly studied Mayweather and tried to copy his entire approach. Think of the videos he's released bigging up his lifestyle, house, motor etc. He's deliberately tried to get up people's noses because he knows that any emotional response he can generate is likely to translate into revenue.

To be fair to him, even with the surname advantage, he's done a decent job of building his profile and he's one of the more interesting characters in a sport not brimming with them at present.

Really? The word is overused by teenagers these days, but to see the best from our shores since Lewis embrace arguably the greatest of all time pricked up my old goosebumps - it was iconic.

Joshua is such an asset to British boxing and despite his huge profile he’s so under appreciated. The best résumé by some distance, the best speaker, perfect appearance, BLM supporter, supports local businesses and great with fans. He’s just such a great guy and it kills me that he was concussed going into the match against the fat American kid. Usyk is great but at heavyweight he is no match for Joshua, IMHO. Something wasn’t right in the lead up and in his corner. He will KO Usyk this time (got a pretty penny riding on it) and hopefully embrace Floyd again! I hear he’s been helping out.
