It’s just sparring, also that tiny southpaw looks way sharper than the pac we saw vs Ugas

I must admit, I do not know EE boxing culture. I have been curious as to why they remain amateurs so long or do not turn pro. Is this a cultural issue? Also, I thought Khazakstan was in Centeral Asia.

They're "amateurs" in the same way that the quarterback for the University of Alabama is a "student."

Who cares? Spence would beat his ass as a pro.

    I highly doubt it.

Sapiyev was a very special fighter. He won everything - Val Barker trophy, Olympic Gold, World championship gold x 2. He had a 310-10 record

He was one of the best amateurs I ever seen. Extremely talented. If he'd have turned pro, he couldve been super fast tracked, and I'd have expected him to have had similar success to Usyk and Loma.

I suggest you watch a fighter before you dismiss him. Sapiyev schooled Spence with absolute ****ing ease. I don't see how Spence couldve ever ****ed with Sapiyev

Spence ducking Crawford, Spence would never have fought Sapiyev in the pros.

To be fair, Sapiyev was a great amateur, as slick as an eel on a water chute and more experienced than Spence and he himself rated Spence and said he was very physically strong.

As for how a match up between them in the pros would play out? Sapiyev won all these medals and went roughly 310-10 and beat as many quality fighters as he did for a reason. And that's because he was a highly skilled super slick brilliant fighter and had he turned over chances are he would've been able to emulate a lot of the success he had in the amateurs in the pros.

Spence is definitely a bit overrated albeit still a good fighter and is currently the highest rated among PBC's ranks what with him being ranked by The Ring in their P4P top 10 albeit they've always had him too high.

Alot of guys beat spence in the amateurs. Doesn't mean he would've done it as a pro. Spence is a much better pro than he was an amateur.

    This ^
Pretty sure EVERYONE has lost an amateur fight. This old fight has no bearing on where ESjr is as a pro.

This guy's amateur-boxing skills are off the charts. Spence was dominated from start to end. And the running part happens because the referee is an idiot who positioned like **** and broke sapiyev's movement pattern, so he decided to do that crap after the referee ****ed up.

I dont like amateur boxing, but it's quite obvious that sapiyev is not a normal fighter. I'm not sure if he could adapt to pros easily though, his style is hardcoded to amateur style (3 rounds to throw it all). But with that talent propably he would have done it.

In the pros, this fight would have been very different, though. Who knows.

I agree, but have you watched the fight? Sapiyev is not "just another guy". It's pretty clear.

This doesnt mean ****...plus Spences style fits the pro game better ...amateur boxing is filled with dancers playing tag and run... pro boxing is much better.

Sapiyev did everything to Spence except pull his pants down.
