Yes, he played the part of Union Cane in Rocky 5 who won the vacant heavyweight title when Rocky retired after beating Ivan Drago in Rocky 4. He was then quickly beaten by Tommy Gunn played by Tommy Morrison to lose his title and was never heard of again in the Rocky films. Interestingly, the part of Union Came was said to have been originally offered to Frank Bruno, another mighty muscled heavyweight but Frank said he turned it down because he didn’t want to be seen been knocked out on film by Tommy Morrison. Williams in real life first came to people’s attention when he was said to have impressed as a raw young prospect in eye catching sparring sessions with undisputed heavyweight champ Mike Tyson and it was hoped that he would be built up eventually to be a viable challenger for Tyson. I think it was all going to plan for the first 10 or so fights of his career but he came undone when he was matched against former champ Tim Witherspoon, losing a close decision and then when he was stopped by Buster Douglas a year or so after that, that was more or less the end of his hopes of being a genuine heavyweight contender for the title.

Have you heard of Purple Aki? Obviously he’s not a middleweight though he is a behemoth of a man. Sounds very similar.
I remember a British middleweight some years ago, his name escapes me but he was good, albeit not quite world class ... I was stacking shelves in Tesco at the time, before I retired from working .... anyway, he comes in one day, washboard abs, pecs to die for, looked like a Greek God statue carved out of hard hot rippling chocolate ..... he didn't even notice me.
