Santa Cruz calling for Magsayo so this will still be for nonsense regular thing. Still a good fight but a proper world title would have added the extra spice to it. Now it's just a no1 contender fight

Conlan has done nothing to deserve a world title shot and would get smashed to pieces if he boxed the past his best Santa Cruz now.

I would like nothing better than for Woods to do a number on the obnoxious Conlan but in terms of boxing ability I think Conlan has a superior skill set and therefore will start as a favourite.

Conlan probably schools him, but I wouldn't bet on it.

As an amateur Conlan schooled almost everyone. He has wins over the likes of Murodjon Akhmadaliev, Ryan Burnett, Kal Yafai, Nordine Oubaali, Dzmitry Asenau, Veaceslav Gojan, Vincenzo Picardi, etc

Hasn't looked as impressive as a pro. But the potential is still there, this could be his coming out party.

As a pro I’m talking about.
He has hardly been impressive and largely dull.
    Not a fan personally.

Conlan reminds me of Luke Campbell in that his style hasn’t really carried over from the amateurs that well.

I think he is much worse than Campbell tbh, I’ve seen him live loads of times and he doesn’t carry any pop.

This is the easiest belt they can put on him and it’s still a 50/50 IMO.

    Completely agree, he’s been poor.

Bit of a side note but Jamie Conlan is an absolute muppet isn’t he. Failed as a boxer so he’s just another ‘manager’ amongst the plethora of tagalongs we have in British boxing today.

A real 50/50. It could just come down to who gets their tactics best on the night. I don’t think there’s much at all to separate them. Conlan has the superior skill set but we haven’t seen him mix at a high level as a pro. Wood is riding high with great momentum right now too.

I'm surprised as to how many posters are picking Conlan cos he was a stand out amateur.
Ye of course that stands u in good stead when you begin your pro career but the two sports are that far apart as to be akin to pool and snooker. Just cos your good at pool doesn't make you good at snooker. Or 20/20 and test match cricket . The guys in 20/20 are hardly ever in the test match sides.
    Two Completely different sports.
