Should you automatically win the round 10-8 with knockdown?

Terry O'Connor used to score the round 10-8 to the opponent that was knocked down

 

In the Kambosos vs Lopez fight, two of the three judges scored the first round 10-9 to Kambosos even though he scored a knockdown (the other scored it 10-8) on account that Lopez won the round without the knockdown.

It’s uncommon, but it does happen.

 

You can score it 10-9 and the way you describe it is a perfect example.

Unless a guy was out on his feet after scoring a knockdown and was saved by the bell then you could give it 10-9 but if he is getting beat up then he should be hitting the deck like his opponent did

 

I was slated on here for giving the final round in Fury v Wilder 1 to Wilder 10-8 after the brutal knockdown - some on here actually gave Fury the round!!!

 

As much as I dislike Windmill and everything he says even I gave that round 10-8 to the Windmill.

The point deduction is not mandatory for the knockdown, its not in the rules that u have to automatically give a point away for a knockdown. However it's the case 99.9% of the time that the judges give it

 

Me too. 10-8 if you knock the guy down in the only knock down of the round.
