I think Thurman was just getting as many rounds in as he could to get rid of the rust. I don't think he pressed for the KO aside from one round. Porter was lighting Spence up with left hooks. I think Thurman has a shot.
If Spence is still the same Spence he destroys Thurman who can't take it to the body which is a recipe for disaster against Spence who's a devastating body puncher who won't let him rest. He bodys Thurman.
Spence is a good, consistant body puncher and his size may be a factor too but he doesn`t punch with all his weight, his punch technique isn`t that good, he can still hurt fighters to the body but is more of an accumilation finisher, Thurman has pretty good power, he punches with about 70% of his full force and capability.
5 years ago (when Thurman beat Garcia & Spence beat Brook) this was a 50/50 fight. Two years later it was 60/40 - 65/35 Spence. Now, after Spence's car accident & eye injury, along with Thurman's inactivity; it's 50/50 - 55/45 in favour of Spence - as we don't know how damaged he is.
I agree with you for the most part, I'd still make it currently 60/40 Spence. He beat up Danny real bad, worse than we've seen Danny ever beaten up on. I think Spence might still be in rare form.
That was just one fight, and everyone struggles with Porter. He did better vs Danny than Porter and Thurman
