I begrudge watching IFL as I can't stand any of them apart from Oscar, however they do get great access. As mentioned previously, they've gotten lazy and they've been overtaken quality wise by some of the other channels - case in point the other day when Kugan was interviewing Eddie and tried to piggyback off Andi Purewal's light, some guy from SecondsOut then let him use his to help out, slack!
Yea IFL are trash. I’ve just watched Umars interview with Fury and the guy is a nervous wreck all the way through. Doesn’t push on the questioning as well like he does Hearn. Fury saying Usyk wasn’t ready until May. So are you telling me Fury turned down the undisputed fight for the sake of an extra 2 month wait? This is a guy known for big phases of inactivity in his career. All of a sudden he wants to fight 3 times this year? When was the last time he fought 3 times in a year? Look I like Fury and everything but it’s pretty clear he could have fought Usyk next if he really wanted to.
I like this though. There's more and more awareness and discontent about IFL and their pathetic level of questioning. Umar is getting exposed now and everyone knows what a garbage interviewer Kugan is.
I unsubbed and stopped watching ifl ages ago, that **** started sticking in the throat to much for me long ago. much better channels and more likeable interviewers out there to watch.
I'm a big fury fan and have watched ifl since the start. That latest interview is so bad. Fury saying Eddie didn't pay the purse bid for Kambosos v Lopez and umar doesn't correct him. Then fury says he waits for no man he wanted to fight march but AJ didn't ask for an extra 5m he would have waited until June to fight Usyk. What a waste of time that was
Ifl r good and to be honest have kept me up to date over the years. The first thing I have searched in YouTube has been IFL. BUT recently it has been boxing social I search for now
It’s quite clear now it was Fury’s side who didn’t want the Usyk fight. He wanted a warm up for a fighter he was calling a midget, bum, Adamek etc. but then they pushed the narrative it was Joshua or Whyte being greedy with step aside.
I don’t think we can say that for certain. All sides are trying to save face, hence why there’s so many different narratives being pushed. My prediction is that essentially, once again, greed and politics are what stopped anything major from happening regarding a step aside deal.
Laughed at... Eddie: ‘you never ask Frank tough questions’ Umar: ‘well I’m seeing him on Wednesday so what do you want me to ask?’ Eddie: ‘I’m not bothered’
What do you expect? These guys are uneducated and hopeless. That’s why they are asking people questions for a living and not contributing anything meaningful to society. You lot on the forum worship anything. Not one of these dumb YouTube interviewers could write a coherent article.
The Kugan format is: Shake the camera around as though you're drunk. Make sure the audio is crap so you can't actually hear anything. Spell the name of the person you're interviewing wrong in the video title. Getting that kind of stuff wrong when it's your literal, actual job just shows they don't give a toss and are getting too comfortable. When IFL first started the slapdash nature and informal style of it was endearing. Now it's just plain annoying. YouTubers weren't really a thing back then so you were just happy for the free boxing news but now it just comes across as a few drunk Jack the lads chancing it when they should really be putting more effort in. If Boxing Social were more active I'd unsubscribe.
Boxing social don't look to make personal relationships with the boxers. That's why they don't get the access that IFL has and they don't try to make it a cosy interview. IFL is all about doing an interview with a boxer whilst they're in bed, asking about what their favorite flavour of crisps are and who's going out with who, type of interview. Which is fair if they want to do that but they shouldn't gain any extra access to boxing events/promoters/fighters than the more boxing focused channels.
