Could go either way, but if Tyson doesn't win in the first 4-5 rounds, then Ali takes it late. I would say 7/10 Ali KO's late. I think Ali could take hits from Tyson. He is the only man to KO Foreman and took a beating against the ropes. If I had to predict, I'd say Ali around 8/9th round. But it could go either way.
Great video! what makes u say holyfields style was better suited for longevity? Seems to me he took way more punishment in his wins than Tyson did. I think Ali stops Tyson late while behind on cards. Ali was a guy who found ways to beat stylistic nightmares. End of the day I don't see Tyson stopping Ali and I don't see Tyson beating Ali on the cards. I do think evander could decision Ali. Evander vs Frazier to me is the ultimate hw champ mythical matchup. What a war that would be.
Prime for prime this is absolutely opaque classic-theater-of-the-unexpected type stuff, where you could duplicate it tenfold and have ten different outcomes... and literally anybody saying otherwise is either an irrational fanboy/girl or a hater of either one guy or the other.
While Rummy is not certain I have to say I am on this one. Ali by late stoppage, once Tyson's initial attack is stymied he had a tendency to stand straight up and Ali would paint his face with jabs and rights and if he got inside Ali knew how to hold. One other thing that wasn't mentioned, Frazier absorbed an incredible amount of punishment to get to Ali and he kept coming. Tyson couldn't last 10 rounds with Buster Douglas so I don't think he'd take nearly as much as Joe did to get to Ali. I'd be willing to bet around the 4th or 5th round when Mike has thrown it all and Ali is standing there starting to talk to Mike that Tyson's mental state would begin to crumble. The referee stops the fight anywhere from 9th to the 11th round . Or maybe Tyson just stays on his stool with his eyes swelled up, but he ain't beating Muhammed Ali regardless.
Always felt this was a 50-50, as Ali with all his advantages was suspicios to bodyshots and explosiveblead left hooks. Forced to make a pick, I’d say Tyson by razor close decision in a 12 rounder(in a type of fight where Ali gets beaten up and possibly dropped in the first several rounds, then takes over, dominates Tyson in the late rounds but not enough to sway the judges total cards) and Ali by decision or a late stoppage in a 15 rounder.
Tyson would have stopped Ali by TKO but Ali may have made adjustments for a rematch, Mike had far better offensive tools than anybody Ali faced and Muhammad was too open to hooks.
