Agree with nuro. Brook is dead at the weight. Hence the reason khans turned up full of confidence. Brooks making a weight he was making in 2004 when he was 18...at 36. He fought the carson jones rematch at 151 way back in 2013. Which kind of points towards having problems back then...probably even further back. He looks weak atm. Khans had about 15 lbs to play with over the same period of his career and will probably struggle a little bit to make the weight. Which shows you the battle brook has on his hands. Add in a rehydration clause and he,ll be lucky to see out khans fast early attacks.
Apparently there isn't a rehydration clause. When Khan was quizzed on it weeks ago he didn't know, and Ben Shalom basically intimated that there isn't one today.
Just done research into the WBC check weight system. Fighters on fight day check weight cannot hydrate by more than 10% of what they weighed in at...interesting. So 149 tomorrow ~ 163.9 rehydration limit 151 tomorrow ~ 166.1 rehydration limit
I think the IBF was 147 - 157. The fight day weigh in was usually early in the morning leaving plenty of time to hydrate further.
I expect Brook to come into the ring about 168ib. it's how he made the weight that will be key. Khan looks very old, and has not been training last couple of years until this camp. Will his speed and his punch resistance be diminished (likely). if I was Brook I would be targeting khan's body, and if I was Khan I would be targeting Brooks eye sockets.
I'm praying Brook does come in overweight just to wipe the smugness of Khan's face especially after all the bull**** snide restrictions he's put in place the big fanny
i think Brook will get to 151/152, then with his S&C if its worth getting close to 149 OR just try to come just above 149 say 150. It be silly brook do silly cut get to 149 and then think "damn this is drained me i am dead at this weight" as it be too late. There is a possibility Khan bluff Kell make him get to 149 and himself come in at a comfortable 150/151. He is getting a lot more money so he can afford to lose ££
WBC aren't involved. And they don't do a next day check weight, IBF do. If the fighters are doing these weigh ins, it'll have nothing to do with the sanctioning bodies,it'll have been agreed in the contracts - which on Khans part is a ***** move.
Khan going with Crawford’s trainer who accused him of quitting shows he's clearly the type of guy who likes to get cable tied to a chair while his wife gets rodgered by other men
