No love for Josh Taylor on this forum?

Undisputed title holder and has the title on the line in five days time and the forum is still clogged with Khan vs Brook. A little thread on the British forum about the gloves are off programme but little else.

But that seems to be the way with Taylor. No-one appears interested in the guy - can anyone explain why?

Taylor is almost universally loved here. Maybe the most liked boxer not named Usyk.

Alright I checked the survey Rummy did about the most liked active boxers on this forum

    1. 3,675 Oleksandr Usyk
    2. 3,183 Naoya Inoue
    3. 2,375 Vasyl Lomachenko
    4. 2,300 Tyson Fury
    5. 1,827 Josh Taylor

I think because this fight with Catteral is generally regarded by most as a routine defence - most folks, with good reason think that Taylor is a level above Catteral, hence there isn't as much interest as there would be if it was more like the Prograis and Raimrez bouts.

That said, I've felt that Catteral looks quietly confident all week, and this is the kind of defence that can be a banana skin if the champ is not 100% focussed - I can't see Josh making that mistake, but you never know.

My prediction is a dominant UD, possibly late stoppage.

Another undefeated fighter to add to TTTs resume too!

No disrespect jack catterall is barely known in the u.k so no surprise there's little fanfare..hopefully a routine win for josh and up to welterweight to stir things up.

Are you high? How many threads do you see around here bashing Taylor? There's only praise of Taylor on this forum.

I like Taylor. But his division is garbage.

He needs to move up, or some names from lightweight need to come up. Otherwise, there isn't much to talk about when it comes to him.

Being the best fighter from 136 to 140 pounds (four whole pounds ... this little tiny piece of the sport) only gets you so far.
