Big George has wins over Frazier which is automatically better than any win Tyson has. Foreman also recaptured the title 20 years later.
Foreman has the wins, but Tyson has the consistency.. I would go with Mike for some reason.. in his consistency and he beat decent guys which were not easy to beat, regardless of anything else.
I mean. Define legacy. In terms of pop culture and iconic status well it’s Tyson he’s a symbol of the 80s-90s and beyond and every man alive in the west and more knows his name and face. In terms of boxing greatness. George is simply a step above there isn’t a good argument for Tyson being superior in my opinion. In a bout between the two at there bests Mikes a better fighter but less accomplished for my money.
In terms of skill: Tyson Resume: Tyson foreman have better single wins but he is 2-2 vs top 10 contenders in 70s both beat 2 ATGS norton is not ATG Qawi,Frazier are ATGS Tyson beat more top 10 contenders champions also Title reign:Tyson Prime:Tyson Seriosly i dont understand people who rate foreman or Frazier over Tyson
Big George easy. Even has some mainstream appeal with the grill. Tyson is bigger in pop culture but there aren’t many who can compare to him in that level.
Foreman. Tyson had the bigger name & more world-wide acclaim, but Foreman definitely had the better career & better wins.
This. Foreman got beat young, but Mike never beat anyone quite on the level of an undefeated Frazier...or, some might say, a prime Norton. Mike also arguably didn't beat anyone as good as Moorer post-prison. Foreman also didn't get knocked but once in his whole career.
Close call. Tyson has the facial tattoo and his one man Broadway play while Foreman has the broadcasting career and, of course, his eponymous grill. Ok, all kidding aside, legacy-wise, I certainly have more good memories of Tyson fights than I do of Foreman's. (I was around for both) That being said, the two big memories of Foreman are top notch. Cosell and the "Down goes Frazhuh" and Lampley's "It happened, it happened" against Michael Moorer are very impressive. Tyson has no great announcer calls but his devastation of fighters like Berbick, Holmes and Spinks are etched in my memory. I give Tyson an advantage there. As far as accomplishments, Foreman is a bit of a myth. Don't get me wrong, he was a great heavyweight fighter but he was a poor to mediocre heavyweight champion.. He was champ twice and had just three successful defenses, two which were against Joe Roman and Axel Schulz. Tyson was also a champ twice and had 10 successful defenses. Advantage Tyson here as well. I like both fighters a lot but I believe Tyson leaves the bigger legacy.
