A lot of people say that Hatton sucked or had no chin or whatever, but he did have relentless pressure a non-stop body attack and really good power AT JUNIOR WELTERWEIGHT. He was a problem at 140 and Miguel Cotto hadn't hit his peak yet and seemed to get hurt in every fight he had during his reign and was getting dropped every other fight, he was still that vaunted power puncher who could box and had a pretty good jab along with some good movement. Cotto was known to slow down as fights go long especially in his younger days as first shown by N'dou and later exposed by Margarito (he did not cheat) Cotto would gas and begin to wilt. So, do you think Hatton's pressure and body attack would be enough to beat a young Cotto or would Cotto's lefthook and boxing ability be enough to be the only other man aside from Pacquiao to beat Hatton at 140

Who do you think wins this match up?

    Pick em fight

A lot of people will just say Cotto but it's a hard pick since Cotto was a little chinny at 140

Man I dunno. Hatton was relentless and at 140 Cotto was nearly knocked out every time he stepped foot in the ring.

Cotto is the better fighter, but at 140 I think I favour Hatton to pound out a UD.

Bob Arum was moving Cotto carefully at 140.. It was at 147 where he took on all available comers..

Always though the Cotto that looked like a skeleton on the scales VS Torres looses to Hatton.
Cotto's right hand was never his biggest shot and Ricky in his prime had great strength, stamina and chin

But over time I've come round to that Cotto was simply the better boxer, more tools and better with them and should probably beat Hatton.I think everyone would pick Cotto at 147 where Hattons strengths were diminished by the bigger guys. Even Floyd although he started lower was the bigger, stronger fighter on the night

At 140 it's very close, i'll say Cotto but i've been known to say Hatton b4

At 140 prime Hatton would have a real shot at winning the fight. Gotta say this would have been an amazing fight to watch that's for sure.

I can’t believe I’m going to say this but at 140 I’d favor Hatton over Cotto….. 140 was Ricky’s best weight where it was a struggle for Cotto. So based off of that and that alone I’d favor Hatton. Skill wise, ability , technique, or whatever you want to call it was definitely in Cotto’s favor.

    147 Cotto no question wins.

I agree with most here hatton at 140. Cotto always looked too drained at 140. at a higher weight I would always favor Cotto who's the more rounded fighter.
