Is Calzaghe the only retired and undefeated world champion without controversial decisions?

Hopkins won one, two, three, maybe all four of the first four rounds against Calzaghe. (I gave him one and three).

He won zero rounds after the fourth, and Bernard was forced to fake low blows to get rests to make it to the final bell.
The seeing judges scored it 9-3 and 8-4 in rounds...generous, IMO.

The blind judge who gave Canelo 10 rounds over GGG in their first fight, had Bernard by a point.

    That fight wasn't close.

Robin Reid got much closer, but still lost narrowly.

Not the biggest Canelo fan at all, but he beat BJS, Plant, Smith, Jacobs and controversial GGG ones. If he beats Bivol fairly, you have to give him respect for that surely.

C'mon man we all know that If the fight is made it'll be in Vegas where the NSAC & Vegas officials will ensure that if Canelo is still standing at the final bell he "wins" Bivol doesn't have the power to KO him. That is why its not Beterbiev or Benevidez They do

There is no metric by which Hopkins won. None. This is the "I wouldn't let a white boy beat me" crowd.

This is the "Tyson Fury loaded his gloves and poisoned Deontay" crowd.

Yep hit the nail on the head only had about 8 serious fights the rest of his career was a joke that is why I don't consider his undefeated record to be that impressive. Yes he was a good fighter but if he had fought more top fighters in his prime there is no way he would be undefeated.

You obviously did not watch Calzaghe vs Reid or his fight with Bernard Hopkins otherwise you won’t say he has no controversial decisions in his career.

Fair point about Canelo cards. Bivol does have power though, and dare I say more power than most of the opponents Canelo has faced. You would expect Canelo to handle it, but you never know, particularly at LHW.

Nope, I had never even heard of Reid. Hopkins fight I barely remember, I barely understood boxing then, didn't know what a robbery was. What I remember is Calzaghe was dropped early and then came back into the fight and schooled Hopkins. I'll have to watch it back.

There is no such thing as a retired/undefeated champion that has no controversial wins. Of the precious few that are undefeated, they have at least 2.
