Which of the following champions does Ibeabuchi beat?

All of the above. Ibeabuchi will never lose to boxers whose fights are exclusively in black and white.

 

Most of these men would lose to much lesser fighters in the 90s, different styles and rules, far too advanced for modern times.

Very talented crop though.

Ibeabuchi couldn't really box very well. He got sent away before being exposed, but Byrd was beating him and imo Tua deserved the win. Any good boxer who could stay upright would have a good chance of beating him. A guy like Tony Thompson might even get the job done.

Give Johnson, Willard and Primo the best chance of befuddling him.
But a fellow that heavy, strong and powerful, throwing so many punches over 12 rounds, is handful against the lighter yesterdays.

Byrd was clueless on the run, until one of these sledgehammers found its target.

 

None of the options are "good boxers". They are not slick like Byrd.

 

Um, you should watch it again. Byrd never ran at all.

Byrd mostly outboxed Ibeabuchi but the cards were about even at the stoppage because Byrd stupidly tried to rope a dope at times. He had outlanded Ike.

The ref goofed up on the stoppage because he panicked at how hard the initial kd was. He called a second knockdown when Ibeabuchi pushed Byrd and then waived the fight off at a very questionable point.

Byrd’s inexperience likely played a roll there.

 

Ike was a very unfinished product with only 2 elite wins (both questionable), and likely filled with all sorts of PEDs.

That being said, based on styles and physical dimensions, I'd favor him over Willard, Tunney, Carnera, and Baer. Willard was a big slow target, Tunney would have had to take 3 steps just to avoid getting steam rolled and gets stopped late, Carnera is Carnera, and Baer is a 50/50 fight, maybe slightly in Ike's favor due to his better form.

 

Ibeabuchi not only outthrew & outlanded Byrd, he left him drewling in round 5.
Adjust your glasses. Byrd did not win, nor was in the position to win the fight.

The 1992 Olympic silver medalist hid for nearly five rounds of their heavyweight fight before Ibeabuchi found him. And when that happened, the scheduled 10-round bout was over quickly."

 

Watch the fight, chief. I was talking about punchstats earlier in the fight btw when they were flashing it on the screen.

The point is that Ike would’ve been exposed by a good boxer who was closer to his size who had power, if not by Byrd of let’s say the Tua fight. Kirk Johnson was doing to him in the gym.

 

No problem with that.
Since the fellows above aren´t a) good boxers plus b) size of Ibeabuchi, I stay with my conclusion.

 

I’m thinking more along the lines of having better power than Byrd, not being the exact size of Ike. Tua basically did it as a short guy in the 220s. Ike wouldn’t go through that list undefeated. And we’re thinking of Ike as being better than he was because of when he got sent away.

Imagine if Dominic Guinn got sent away at his peak.
