He failed a sample by a committee who didn't know how to take tests, then passed the retake hours later. In a fight, where his opponent also failed, and also passed his second sample.Jones didn't fail any real test, he failed a sample kit performed by idiots.

But yeah, they were both obviously on steroids.

.... also failed a test in that fight; then also passed the second test.

How convient is it that when somebody who doesn't have a clue what they're doing gets two positive tests, but somebody who does gets two negative ones?

Roy's attorney indicated that he had taken a supplement that contained substances banned by the IBF.

However I will take your word for it that the tests themselves were bogus.

He did, immediately after the failed test. He also attempted to sue the company who supplied them iirc.

Also just to add to that, is that the substance they failed for wasn't even testosterone itself, it was a precursor to it which has a half life of 80 minutes, and therefore doesn't produce enough testosterone to be useful in building muscle. Building muscle isn't particularly useful for boxers anyway, unless they're talking about type two fibres. Roy's type two fibres were on display as early as fifteen years old; and he didn't seem any more muscular than he did in any other fights. Testosterone itself also has no immediate effects, making it useless around the time of a fight. The precursor, androstenedione, would also absolutely not be able to cause 10x the testosterone level an elite athlete would already possessed.

The whole thing doesn't really add up, but given its a one off, performed by people who didn't know what they were doing and the fact BOTH boxers failed for the SAME THING, then BOTH passed is just too coincidental for me to truly believe this is all legit. However, I think it's obvious Jones was indeed on steroids. Same as Pacquiao, Tyson, Mayweather, Holyfield, and pretty much every other world level boxers since the late 80s and 100% since the early 2000s.

Roy was more talented, but Manny was greater. Manny fought everyone and Roy ducked many, but Roy did have a great career regardless.

Manny by a longshot. Jones had hand speed but once that left him his boxing skills were shown to be sub-par. He also had that glass jaw. Manny fought competively through 8 divisions, proving his mettle time and again till an age of 40.

Pacquiaos talent allowed him to accomplish more, therefore I believe it is Pac.
