There is so many similarities with the Benn mclellan fight with the first round knockdown etc and Wood being hurt multiple times praying the ending isn’t the same, what a fight, I’m still in disbelief

Admittedly didn’t see the fight bar the most talked about bit. Apparently he hit his head off a seat and then the floor, is being taken for an MRI.

That after taking three or four punches while knocked out sitting on the ropes is quite worrying.

 

Seeing someone out cold falling through the ropes is scary, they aren't able to put their arms out to break their fall, he would have certainly hit his head first on the floor or a seat . I hope he's okay. That could be a serious head injury and possible career ender. Fingers crossed he makes a full recovery

 

Went drinking in town to avoid the £8 dazn fee...best £100 I've spent. Don't like conlan for obvious reasons but gave his all and thought wood was done in the 1st, amazing story from being KO'd by Gav mcdonell

 

why the hell would you have any negativity just after an amazing fight of the year like that! ****ing unreal brilliant fight.

Both proved they are world level operators with massive hearts. It's not one of the stronger divisions so your negative untimely comment is wrong anyway.

 

I don't think the seats were near enough , those sitting ringside had to jump forwards to try and catch him. Although the clip doing the rounds doesn't look to be such a heavy fall as it first looked he was knocked out cold already so couldn't break his fall.

The Conlan's don't come across as particularly likeable to me but pray he's ok.

What a fight though, Leigh Wood is one tough MF.

Boxercise really is an utter scumbag, acting like a clown at the end there.

Incredible fight, one of the best I've seen. Conlan was miles ahead and looked to be absolutely exhausted at the end, and suffered a horrific KO because of it.

 

I know judges, ring officials and training corners need to be positioned right next to the ring but lessons should be learned and some sort of precautions need to be had to avoid the risk of fighters falling on their head after getting knocked out of the ring. At the very least avoid having hard objects like seats in that area and have soft padding.

Seems a fairly obvious safety measure.

 

Great news and hope he can fully recover from whatever injuries he sustained in the fall.
