Going into the 12th round Wood needed the knockdown. He did not need the knockout. Scores were 105-102 and 104-103 twice, all for Conlan.

Not at all. He controlled the fight throughout and landed the crisper shots not to mention his bodywork.

Skills were paying the bills, then the big heart erased the fast start. Hopefully Conlan is ok after taking his part in what as already mentioned was a fight of the year, comeback of the year and knockout of the year and all in one contest. Wood showed his class by refusing to celebrate until he knew Conlan was ok. What a fight mind !

106-101 is a joke. 105-102 is very generous to Conlan. 104-103 Conlan is about right.

There's so many different outcomes and controversies that could have happened if that 12th round went differently. If Wood won the round and the fight a draw, the knockdown in the 11th would have been scrutinised.

I'd have to go back and score, but my intuition was that Conlan should've been a bit further ahead than one point. They were on Wood's turf and on his platform, though, Top Rank's clout pushed into the background.

I think the general consensus is 105-102 is fine as is 104 103. I think Wood woud've been happy with 104 103 imo, but not a bad score imo

Agreed! Lara is the FW equivalent of Deontay Wilder or Inoue, he literally sucks his punches up from his boots and throws with absolutely everything while Wood is more technical and accurate with straight punches right down the pipe and short crisp hooks.

Wood should go after the winner of Martinez and Warrington and avoid Lara like the plague and that's not me knocking Wood, it's just that Lara is a power punching monster.

Slightly better angle (although shaky footage) of the knockout:
