Actually talks some sense on this one Boxercise. Not about the boxing rather the social media aspect of it.

Devils advocate- Anyone giving Davison credit for the job he did with Wood last night?

Don't worry he'll do that himself over the next week or so. Relentlessly.

I enjoyed the way he had his hands resting inside the ropes throughout the fight.
Then kept amazing composure when Conlan was unconscious

Davidson has done a good job with Leigh Wood, it has to be said. He has got to be his best achievement outside of getting Fury in shape and guiding him to the draw vs Wilder. I think his advice was good against Conlan, but Wood clearly didn’t listen all that much - he was warned to stop dropping his right hand because he was getting caught with the looping left every time and he was told he needed a stoppage (admittedly Taylor was told the same when the fix was already in) which he went and got.

Booth deserves some criticism I believe. Conlan has said he himself thought he needed to stop Wood for the win (which is ridiculous) but Booth told him he needed to win the 12th. Admittedly, looking at the too close scorecards, he did, but for me Booth should have told him to be on his bike, not sit on the ropes and avoid any exchanges. With Conlan’s pedigree he is more than capable of winning a round on his bike pot shotting.

On a tangent in this thread, but do you seriously believe the Taylor fight was fixed?

If, for example, the police decided to investigate - what do you think they'd find? Would anyone trying to fix a fight really present a score card as wild as John-Lewis did? Intrigued as I think it's pure incompetence.

It’s hard, it really is. Looking at IJLs historical cards it’s evident he can’t score a fight, always goes to the aggressor regardless of effectiveness.

However, I struggle to rack my brains and find a time where a big favourite / popular fighter doesn’t get the rub of the green / bad decision go against them. Campbell Hatton got battered off that Spanish lad - it wasn’t close, but the scorecards were essentially the same as if Campbell had boxed relatively well.

I feel there’s certain pressure when American money is involved. There were 30 Top Rank execs around that ring for Taylor / Catterall. They don’t make millions forcing Crawford into a multi-million dollar vegas fight if Catterall wins clearly.

Not sure, they could just all be **** at their jobs.

The thing with Davison is that I'm never sure what he brings to the table. He's still young though.

I think that's the problem, I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea but as part of team I think he brings value, as the main trainer not convinced but behind the arrogant persona etc there is obviously some substance and in a big team that is probably a big plus

None, I'm sorry. Wood won that off pure heart, belief and determination. The only thing i could possibly give Ben is that Wood was fit. That's me being honest, no hate involved.

There’s a few of them now. Lee Wylie who’s apparently a great video analyst and Barry Smith and all their Instagram usernames are ‘MTKvideo’, ‘MTKperformance’ etc. Sounds a fairly new team that MTK have put together and obviously they all add something to the team but a bit of experience would probably be useful. I don’t even mean as head trainer either, just someone giving a few pointers - a Jimmy Tibbs type.
