I will not be surprised if a possible rematch ends up on DAZN UK PPV. Try to look at developments in recent months. Now the promoters are doing a boxing event with one good main event fight and the rest consists of an undercard with missmatch on missmatch.

If DAZN has any brains it'll sub-licence a one-off fight replay to the BBC and let some people actually see it.

What makes you think the BBC would want to do that? Historically the BBC have shown next to no interest in boxing.

Why do we need a rematch? Not like it was a lucky punch. Wood dropped him in the 11th then finished him in the 12th. He set the finish up with hard shots and a knockdown the round before.

There's clearly some link between Matchroom and the BBC which didn't quite get formalised during the DAZN deal. There were Hearn hints several times about "mainstream media promotion" and of course Hearn has his own podcast on BBC Sounds.

BBC could stick it on iPlayer, promote via its usual methods and get an audience DAZN could only dream of.

Booth fighters do always tend to fade in the later rounds

That's actually true. For approx. 1 year ago in connection with the presentation of the DAZN and Matchroom agreement Eddie Hearn stated that Matchroom also entered into a large agreement with free TV, but we have not heard anything about that ? Maybe it was just one of Eddie Hearn's usual lies ?

I appreciate what you’re saying. I am of the opinion that rematch clauses in boxing are overdone, and often unnecessary - the fact we are likely going to get Khan vs Brook 2 says it all.

That said, I would definitely watch a rematch simply because how good the fight was. Does Conlan deserve a rematch? Probably not, despite a fantastic performance he probably needs to earn another shot at the belt. Leigh Wood has come so far since getting battered off Gavin McDonnell all those years ago, so I would say it’s fair for him to chase a big payday. A unification vs the Warrington / Martinez winner has got to be a must for the summer, at a football stadium (could do Nottingham or Leeds, it will sell, assuming Warrington wins.)

You’d think Sandy Ryan would pipe down a bit after the weekend.

How about Michael Alexanders card? He scored it 97-93 to Ryan thats even worse than the Ian John Lewis card v Taylor

Needs a reform mate. I’d like to see more ex fighters becoming judges.

Alexander is consistent in his judging for the home fighter. He (and Steve Gray) gifted Warrington a hometown decision against Kid Galahad.

Michael Alexander getting KO'd 14 times didn't improve his judging.
