The commentating started around the same time, but this big win helped change the opinion of many at the time on Paulie from the absolutely despised trash talking light puncher to the savvy veteran overcoming physical limits. This was a fight that, for me, actually justified the quality of Malignaggi. After the loss to Khan many were wondering if he still had it, and would instead become a bit of a journeyman. But he showed there were still levels to the game and he was above Senchenko.
