Fighters Patterson could beat, but Tyson couldn't?

Are there any opponents who would beat Tyson but lose to Floyd Patterson?

IMHO: I seriously doubt if Floyd could actually beat someone, who Tyson couldn't beat. In many ways (not all ways), Tyson is a more ferocious and better version of Patterson. In very RARE cases, I could see Patterson lasting a little longer against fighters where that previously mentioned ferociousness could actually cause Tyson to be stopped sooner than Patterson ... possibly someone like Holyfield, who might fight Floyd a little differently than he did Mike? But someone beating Tyson, who wouldn't beat Floyd? I can't see that happening.

I agree with you. Very hard to envision. That’s not to say it’s impossible but I can’t think of anyone.

Maybe Tunney or Conn. Maybe they’d just keep peppering and turning Mike, whereas Patterson was small enough/quick enough and with more nimble feet than Mike to get close enough.

Perhaps prime Patterson might have had a chance against Douglas of the Tyson fight but I can’t say that with much confidence

Floyd at the age Mike was versus Danny Williams and Kevin McBride might have turned the trick where Mike couldn't. For such a youth-centric style - all speed and quick twitch energy - Floyd transitioned into the veteran stage ever so well and should always be borne in mind when evaluating his outstanding career.

Mike, who had similar qualities in his youth and added much greater strength, didn't transition into the mid to late 30s like Floyd did. That doesn't affect H2H effectiveness in their respective primes but does elevate any analysis of their entire careers.

As a Champion, the biting, bullying ****** Tyson is one of the lowliest ever to hold the Title. Maybe the very worst. Patterson embodies what being a Champion should be. Modest, dignified and absurdly courageous with a back story that would make you cry.
How the sport and society itself cries out for a role model like Floyd. Instead, every nasty piece of work in every bar wants to be Tyson. That's a big reason why Boxers are not the examples they were when I grew up in the 70's desperate to be one.

Then I think that Patterson in his late 30s, would have beaten a fair few fighters that Tyson wouldn't have in his late 30s.

I think Patterson might fare better against Holyfield, though I wouldn't bet on him anyway.

This is very choice. Lowliest? Ali favoured race segregation, beat his wife, impregnated a teenager, humiliated and belittled countless fighters.
Sonny Liston was a mobbed up, leg breaker who impersonated a cop and followed a woman for God knows what reason and has a very shady spotty life in general.
Jack Johnson pretty much disregarded and beat his wife into suicide, was a flesh peddler and an all round nasty piece of self inflated work. Honestly, I could go on. What I am trying to illustrate is judging a boxer outside the ring is a worthless affection. This is boxing not Baseball or whatever and just like regular life there is 1 Floyd Patterson for every 100 Brutes like a Carlos Monzon.

He could potentially out-speed and box 96 Evander if he played it safe. I wouldn't bet on it though.

That's what I believe. Patterson was still elite in his 30's and actually had some great performances. He just had the misfortune of running into Ali. Could have been a 3x champ if the judges saw things differently.

I could definitely see Patterson beating guys like Williams or McBride even as an older fighter. Tyson still had power, but his gas tank was horrible, his ring IQ and defense were in the negative digits, and he became a head hunter.
