Fury is greater. He'll show all of us his true untapped power when he absolutely demolishes Whyte in 1 month. It's going to be brutal
The uppercut is such an effective punch; it’s always a standout with elite fighters that have solid fundamentals. Lewis’ looked the sharpest imo
Versatility/utility and speed, I'd say Tyson. He was also excellent at incorporating them into combinations which even guys at lower divisions don't always do effectively. His uppercut was a work of art. Accuracy and leverage, Lewis was remarkable for a super heavy. As others mention, one of the few who could throw effective shots up close Sheer power and brutality, Foreman. Guys froze in their tracks like they got shot, and he could deliver with either hand.
I don’t know about best, but that uppercut that Buster Douglas landed on Mike Tyson was a thing of beauty and I never get tired of seeing it.
I went with Tyson. Didn't Tyson once say he likes to land an uppercut on his opponent's nose, thus driving the bone up into the guy's brain?
Foreman had fists of lead by that point in his career. He’d throw what looked like short, slow arm punches without much effort behind them, but they’d land like they had a ton of momentum behind them. Even his jabs. I don’t understand how he did it. At least when he was young, he’d usually make it look like he was at least trying to throw hard.
I’d wager Tyson could have developed a great left uppercut if he’d ever bothered, given the fact he’s actually left handed.
One of his HBO fights, they showed Big George getting gloved up in a standard 10-ounce glove. He had his hand thrust out and two guys on either side of his arm forcefully tugging at the glove to try to get it over his massive hand. It’s like trying to pull a pillowcase over a washing machine. The man simply has massive hands with a ridiculous amount of bone inside them. Basically it’s like he’s pounding someone with a canned ham or a frozen thanksgiving turkey.
Disagtree. He does not have the balance. Especially while moving his feet. the other big issue would be him getting beat to the punch by a right hand while trying to throw a left uppercut. Very very few fighters can throw good uppercuts with both hands. and they get taught early to not even try because of the danger element.
