Regardless, he showed a lot of heart in a dire situation. Don't forget mate he's coming back from a torn rotor cuff. He's not going to be at his best for a few fights, if he ever makes it back to what he was, pre Calzaghe. Still, he would be seen as too dangerous for Anthony. If fact I doubt Anthony would even be on his radar. A fight with either Tarver or Taylor is more likely.
I think its pretty much taken as read now Ippy that Lacy will never be on par with the man he was pre Calzaghe , can he still handle himself in the ring and become a title holder again ? yes possibly, imo the two biggest crimes in the boxing world in recent times are 1... Birmingham / shaws decision not to throw the towel in after the end of the 10th v Calzaghe and 2 the pair of idiots matching him with a fella of Tyspko's class in his first comeback bout . what were they thinking :-(
I agree with Josey, his corner should have stop the fight against Slappy, the heart he show to keep goin was amazing. I didnt like Lacy much after the Manfredo fight, but the guy fights with heaps of passion, i hope he can make it back to the top but i doubt it.
