Thats how i see it going. I actually think Parker will actually come to win this time and will run Joyce much closer than anybody before. But because Joyce is too relentless and because they'll fight in Britain, Joyce will get the win no matter how good Parker performs
Parker will need to build a lead early as Joyce will look to wear him down and Parker does take rest periods- Joyce does not. JP can take rounds by landing and moving out of range (easy said) then the pressure goes on Joyce to score .. its a 50/50 interesting fight, hope it happens
This is a bad match up for Parker and I'd be surprised if he won. I expect to see Joyce doing a bit more than JP every round.
It's a fantastic match up. I do like Parker and his last fight with Delboy was impressive in that he showed a big improvement aggressively. But Joyce wins this...the relentlessness and non stop forward fighting from Joyce overwhelms Parker I think. Parker may land good shots but Joyce just eats them up with ease. Parker gets overwhelmed and badly pressured. Joyce by UD, Parker ends up with a very badly swollen face after 12 rounds of hard graft.
Parker is very capable of dancing all night flicking the jab from distance. But he may keep the "Kronk" and bomb Joyce all night like he did Chisora
You overestimate Parkers abilities. His wingspan is very average for his size and Joyce could simply play the jab all night like Joshua did. And going right at Joyce will do more harm than good. The size difference and timing will negate the massive speed difference Parkers best chance is to pray to the gods Joyce comes swinging away like he did against Takam and Jennings so Parker can get his shots off when Joyce leaves himself open and move out of range right after. But even then it's 50/50. However i feel those Judges will score it for Joyce however the bout goes
It will be an interesting chess match and game plans will be crucial When Parker beat Ruiz he was being countered off his jab so changed his jab from strong to pouring to put off Ruiz and it worked well. Joyce to me seems a one dimensional fighter that likes to get into a rhythm to wear out opponents and control the pace in that way. If Parker can break that rhythm and therefore control the pace himself he has a decent chance to get a UD. As Mike said 'Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the face'. Both these guys have very good chins - Parkers more proven at a higher level (yes he has been dropped but only hurt once and that was a head butt). I have seen JJ hurt by Jennings to the body ( a good target v JJ) and hit repeatedly by Takam with a right hand - Takam is a good puncher without recognised top level power. geez I hope this fight is made- already looking forward to it
I do think that Parker has a chance in this fight, but it would come from throwing bombs on Joyce's wide open to punch mandible. There is only one fighter winning this one with a jab, and that is Joyce.
I used to like Parker, but I can't support him after he was clearly beaten by Del Boy in the first fight. Joyce may have his limitations, but he comes ready to go. Joyce batters him in a lopsided decision.
