I like the smooth skillsters Your Gans’, Napoles’, Moore’s, Toney’s, Patterson’s, Canto’s and Walcott’s. I know the general public prefer a Tyson or a Benn. Or a Hagler-Hearns type fight. Or the most sophisticated general sports fan will like the smart box and move approach of an Ali, Larry H, Ray Leonard, Khan, Whitaker, or maybe Floyd jnr at his best (around the time of the Gatti and Hatton fights) Perhaps you appreciate true skill combined with grit ala Duran?
I always feel that a trur boxing fan appreciates all styles and how guys look to impose themselves with their attributes in this theather of the unexpected. Naturally you can prefer some more than others.
Like a normal boxing fan, boxing Slugfests all day. Satterfield, Hearns, Gatti, Chacon, LaMotta etc. Hell! David Izon is one of my favorite fighters to watch despite having an very ugly style. But Izon's a first rate crowd pleaser. Every fight is a war. I just simply love high action warriors. Especially glass cannons. They're the best!
Matthew Saad Muhammad, Marvin Johnson, Muhammad Ali, Lennox Lewis, Bobby Chacon, Arturo Gatti, Carl Thompson, George Foreman, Larry Holmes, Evander Holyfield, Michael Katsidis, Ruslan Provodnikov, Marcos Maidana, Carl Froch, Joe Calzaghe etc

I don't have a favorite boxer I like to watch. I like to watch quality boxing as much as possible. I don't like to watch fights where one boxer is superior and the other is inferior. I don't like watching boxing where boxers use dirty tricks. I like to watch uncertain fights. I like to watch fights that end in a draw (real draw), and for me, such fights are the most interesting to watch. I love watching FOTY fights. P.S. I like to watch the 100m sprint, but most of all I like to watch Usein Bolt.
To many to choose from but there are a few reliable ones for me Azumah Nelson Mike McCallum Alexis Arguello
I don’t get how any of those fighters can be your favs to watch since the footage of them fighting is so grainy and blurry you can’t even tell who’s who half the time.
I appreciate every capacity of boxing. I truly love however the fighters who can make things pretty. Embodying this are your Joe Louis’s, Ricardo Lopez, James Toney, and Napoles sorts. Every movement is dangerously captivating for there foe’s and you can appreciate the art at every level.
A prime Roy Jones was the most special fighter I’ve ever watched and one of the most entertaining I liked Duran for his clever defence his brutality and all round brilliance Naz in his prime for his explosiveness and mad angles Hearns, Haye, Tyson, Corrie Sanders.. I like explosive fighters where you know something big can happen at any moment
For the pure aesthetic of looking at them as if it were a dance, I love to watch Hagler and early heavyweight Holyfield. If you were watching them as a photo negative so you couldn't see who they were, they'd stand out for their poise and balance, the fluidity of the perpetual motion. Even watching them in the pre-fight warm ups or shadowboxing, their every movement seems to flow into the next one. And the whole body - head, torso, arms, legs - are constantly moving, all part of the machine. Honourable mention to Salvador Sanchez. For all of the above reasons.
I have a special place in my heart for swarmers/ pressure fighters….Armstrong…Frazier…Rocky Lockridge…Sun Kil Moon …Jeff Fenech…Glenn Johnson…Juan Diaz …Gene Fullmer…etc etc
