I don't know how Benn has the front to show his face at boxing shows, either he is completely deluded or it's all a con.
Just seen a video titled ‘former van Heerden opponent Matthew Hatton...’ the fact Hatton retired over 9 years ago speaks volumes.
That’s right Hearn is biggest conman going. Benn is he any good? He looks ok but when will he be in with a live dog heerden ain’t got no bark
I do, my kids 15 & 18 - and their mates...they love the sound bites on social media. They find him fun to watch in fights. I suggest he's marketed at the 16-25 age bracket - those newish to boxing. My generation 40s have been around a while and seen all this before - as would people on this forum. But there's a big number who casually watch boxing and want to hang on to a 'star' - similar to AJ. I know this cause I'm arguing with my kids and their mates...but not too hard as they want to enjoy it and who am I to take away their enjoyment!!!
Saw an insta poll asking who was the best son of a legend between Eubank Jr, Campbell Hatton, Chavez Jr and Conor Benn… As crap as Chavez Jr was at least he won a world title…
Hearn : "This will be his last little test before he jumps in with a Kell Brook, a Mikey Garcia, Danny Garcia, an Adrien Broner, a Keith Thurman – one of those elite names." All would be good opponents next however if Benn doesn't get matched against on par or better than these mentioned guys then Hearn and Benn should rightly be criticised.
Hearn has been doing this for ages. Since before the Vargas fight and then it was Porter or Broner. He's going to steered away from anyone who can punch. Van Heerden is a neat and tidy operator but a total non puncher and he's been virtually retired for years. Tired of seeing this so called Destroyer in not even warm up fights. I think Eddie will throw huge money at Brook to see if he can secure that fight. Even with Brook V Eubank being discussed and maybe even signed. I did read someone saying michael mckinson would be next up. At least he would be unbeaten and coming to win and has a couple of decent wins of his own. But for a guy who's apprently ready for the best in the division. Benn's last few opponents have been trash.
I'm 18 and I don't rate him to be honest. One or even two of these type of opponents is fine but he's fought about 5 of these guys now without stepping up. When talking about a fight with Mckinson with Tony Bellew he said if Mckinson wins a World Title then the fight can happen, otherwise he offers nothing to him. That was bollocks because Mckinson is ranked in the top 5 in the WBO.
He had some decent wins but was also a weight bully and had some close calls with average fighters even before he lost to Martinez. But yeah, much better career than Eubank jr!
