Because he's financially secure now so has lost the motivation. I assume he'll do just enough to qualify for one more big payday and then retire.

    No shame in it.

Because Andy is lazy and not concerned for his future. That party and big spending lifestyle is gonna catch up to him quick. He needs to get in the gym and fight top 10s if he wants to maintain his current lifestyle

He's all about the bling! Got them greenbacks and he thinks it's gonna last forever. He's busy thumbing through the Rolls Royce catalogue. Lost any real motivation he had. His chin is also cracked as Arreola has shown us. Also he is no longer underestimated by other boxers. Overrated because of his win against Joshua he's just not as good as people think. If he was the killer some think he is, he would be making better fights, with all due respect to Chris, Andy should have mopped the floor with him if he was half as good as people thought. Gonna hold out for one more big fight, fighting nobodies 'till he gets the call.

Putting on and taking off vast sums of weight is terrible fro the heart, breaks down the muscles, and ages you. Ruiz is already well past his best.

Oh really? Stopped him in the third. But a super healthy Joshua couldn't even wobble a fatter piece of lard in the rematch??

Joshua is the most overrated HW champion since Andy Ruiz.

It happens, look at Stiverne, Bowe and Douglas. Won the titles giving their best career performances then showed up for their next fights out of shape and uninspired and in the case of Stiverne and Douglas losing their titles. Bowe at least had Futch in his corner and enough raw talent to keep his career going for a few more years at the top level but he was never the same.

Not all fighters can maintain their motivation and discipline once they win the title and garner all the fame and money that comes with it. Lazy fighters will have their worst habits come to the fore when they do eventually achieve this level of success.

At least with Ruiz he was stung enough by the criticism over the AJ rematch that he got himself into better shape. He looked bad vs Arreola true he probably underestimated Arreola and Ruiz has always been very easy to hit so anyone willing to stand and trade will find Ruiz's chin with ease, but he ground out the win in the end.

As for the Spong fight, yes it's terrible but if Triller are willing to throw cash at Ruiz to fight Spong then I can't really blame him for trying to take an easy payday. The Ortiz fight is apparently signed and will be next after Spong. I hope that's true as we've been teased Ruiz/Ortiz now for over a year as it was meant to be Ortiz instead of Arreola. If it doesn't happen next then it's safe to say we can forget about Ruiz ever doing anything meaningful again.

Edit: Spong fight apparently off, now Ortiz, so there is hope.

Being a fat, unmotivated underachiever is the norm for Ruiz, not being a champ.

Fat Andy took quite a beating from Joshua in the second fight, fact that gets overshadowed by the bodybuilder's running tactics. During the fight many people thought Fat Andy's corner should have pulled him out around the 9-10th round. His chin is now cracked, ready to be split open by King Kong.

Don't think He has got worse...He is in the top 10 of a very ordinary lot of Heavyweights....Always going to be dangerous even now.!!!
