Send in a HW to take the uppercut Povetkin KOd Whtye with

George Chuvalo. I doubt he'd have blinked.

 

I think Ali could take it without being KOed.

 

Loads of HW's. Even average-chinned ones:
- Foreman
- Tyson
- Louis (never stopped with one punch. Would have got up, recovered quickly & then finished Povetkin off in the next round or 2)
- Frazier (same as Louis, but would take longer to recover & get Povetkin out of there).

 

Would be like using a flyswatter on Valuev

 

All of those fighters would have eaten that uppercut without being ko'd

 

Off the top of my head, McCall, Chuvalo, Cobb, Foreman (old), Tyson, Holyfield, Mercer, and Vitali K.

I also have a second tier. Ali, Holmes, Louis, Frazier, and Fury. Maybe Wlad as well. It might knock them down, but then they're getting up and kicking Povetkin's ass in revenge.

 

Vitali uses uppercuts like that for an alarm clock.

 

Far too many to list, but I’ll mention the only other obvious one that hasn’t been mentioned yet: David Tua.

 

Vitali took an uppercut just as bad as that vs Lewis, Maurice Harris survived for me the most flush hardest uppercut i've ever seen vs Derrick Jefferson. Holyfield taking that uppercut in the 10th round of the famous fight vs Bowe, and finally Chris Byrd got up after taking a ridiculous uppercut from Ibeabuchi.

That was a great uppercut but I think that we have to also factor in that Whyte has been proven to be particularly susceptible to a good uppercut.
