I don’t see any knockouts, This would be one of those fights with a lot to learn from. Anyways, across 15 do you think Roberto snipes the win with his cunning? The version we are using was the one from the Hagler bout.
This fight might look similar to McCallum vs Toney, a great technical fight evenly fought. I'd probably lean towards Toney, as he was more proven at Middleweight. But this would be an amazing technical battle to watch.
Toney was an all-time great in his own right. Only the most obsessive Duran fanatics really think he beats the Toney of the Nunn and McCallum fights, and I love Duran.
I like Duran’s work rate to wear down Toney’s stamina. Especially in a 15 round fight. Neither of them were at their respective best at 160, but I like Duran’s odds a little better. Though they shared a common opponent in Barkley, and Toney got the stoppage, he also stopped a more shot version of Barkley who was four years older.
Actually, Toney was coming on strong in the latter rounds in the Nunnm Mc Callum and Johnson fights. Not to mention that middleweight Duran was a guy who picked his punches. You clearly do not know what you are talking about.
I know exactly what I’m talking about. Duran fought a very close fight with Hagler over 15 rounds (how many 15 rounders did Toney fight?). He also inured his right hand around the 5th round, and fought the rest of the fight injured. McCallum was shot on his way down, and many feel he was robbed in both fights. Johnson was no Hagler, that’s for certain.
