What do we actually think of Connor Benn?

He chose boxing boxing didn't choose him. As someone else pointed out the lad has never had to do a days work in his life. Not a tough guy and never will be, it's just an ego thing along with all the tattoo's.

 

Feel like it's all a massive scam at the moment. Exciting fighter, reminds me of the AJ hype train but a lite version of it. Hasn't fought another prospect on a win streak and skipped British level for easy pay days and is learning very little from the fights he's getting. Not convinced by his chin, impressed by his work rate and style. His best win is against Formella and that's only because he went the distance with Porter which he lost comfortably. Other best wins are guys who have been inactive and fighting pro two decades back or are journeymen excited to be getting paid.

 

He’s a decent athlete who has had the luxury of training as often as he wants and resting as and when he needs too due to being Nigels son, also the benefit of walking into a professional gym and trained by Tony sims which most kids wouldn’t, he has improved massively to be fair to him but he has been matched perfectly against guys who come with no ambition, non punchers but can be sold due to a decent performance they gave in about 10 years ago or something. One thing I will say is I’m absolutely convinced he is juiced to the gills, just like his dad was when he nearly killed Mclellan, just saying

They’re pitching him to the casuals. Anyone who’s a hardcore boxing fans, and they’re few and far between, can pick holes in the sales pitch but the casuals just hear ‘Nigel Benn’s son has knocked out someone who fought X, Y and Z’.

Imagine if Benn went and beat the likes of Stanionis and Kavaliauskas and how it would set him up - but Hearn won’t risk him against names only known to the hardcore. He tries using this same excuse for not fighting Avanesyan but it’s bollocks because he’s well known in the UK as the bloke who spanked Josh Kelly.

 

My point wasn’t about McClellan, more pointing out that his dad was surrounded by steroid users and then pretended to feint after the fight to avoid the test after he found out about McClellan. It’s pretty certain Nigel has had a word in his sons earhole about the benefits of anabolics, I also doubt all boxers are on gear, a lot of them are yes but a lot of them are natural, I can tell by their bodies I’ve been on anabolics myself before and can say with 99% certainty Conor Benn is a juicehead and IF all the other fighters are using, he’s using a lot lot lot more than 99% of them

 

It is beyond ridiculous how Benn is being hyped,just read a comment from Barry Hearn saying that he is better than his dad.Unbelievable

 

I saw a comment on Dazn’s youtube that said “he has his dad’s power but with more skill”

 

The problem is mate, a lot of the public do believe it. It's fraud, it may be legal, but it's wrong.

Of course he is a juicehead, but you also don't need to look like a juicehead to be using. There are a plethora of compounds that are unique in their effects, and the interplay with diet and training is obviously important.

I've noticed quite a few people on Twitter moaning about Benn and doping, and they are all Joshua and Fury fans, both of whom are blatant juicers.

 

To be fair Wilder made a career of very low level opposition and his promoter were hyping him to top 3 in the divison lol.

I have confidence Benn will step up and fight a top 15 opponent in his next fight.

 

And he wasnt top 3 in the division?
He was rated by serious bodies as that not just his promoter.
