I am assuming we are considering the form of said heavyweight at the time of the fight. Id say Tyson-Douglas or Wlad-Sanders. Probably Wlad-Sanders.
Joshua is not an ATG heavyweight, although he may be considered as such in a few years, if he beats Usyk and Fury. Worst losses: Lewis-McCall, Klitschko-Brewster, Klitschko-Puritty, Tyson-Douglas, and Ali-Berbick come to mind.
Lewis losing to Rahman has to be up there, too. McCall is a little better, and, much more durable than Rahman.
I mean not worst opponent but most embarrassing defeat. Wlad lost every round. Now Fury is better than Wlad but to lose every single round. Lol. Even the rounds people like claim Wlad won he didn't. Clinching telegraphed mess of a fighter. Size bully got size bullied.
Wlad to Purrity Foreman to Morrison and Jimmy Young Holyfield to Moore/Toney probably his worst losses Lewis loss to McCall was pretty bad since Lewis didn’t properly avenge the loss, fought a mental patient in the rematch The two Liston fights for Patterson had to have been the most embarrassing at the time, the man got a lot of **** in the general public, Frank Sinatra even called him a bum.
First thing I thought was Joshua ATG? Not even in the top 100. Was very Lucy Ruiz showed up in terrible nick for rematch.
Hard to say: is getting sparked with one punch better or worse than taking a more prolonged beating? Are we just considering the ability of the opponent or do other factors come into play, such as how embarrassing the defeat is? AJ-Ruiz is the most humiliating I've seen but this is largely due to the aesthetics, with the prolonged battering by a B/C level opponent and quitjob compounding it.
Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort. The Florida Athletic Commission should fine itself for approving this farce.
