What would it take for Canelo to get your respect as a fighter and champ?

He does it time and time again, and often when he doesn't need to take the fight.

He fought Lara for no belt after twice struggling with defensive fighters. Outrageous stuff from an A Side champ.

 

Canelo's career and resume are certainly impressive. I would be even more impressed if, after the victory over Kovalev, he had fights with Bivol and Beterbiev; and won (they were both champions back then).

 

He has it, whether I think there's a few guys that would put it on him have nothing to do with respect. He's highly respected and out of guys that aren't my favorite fighters, he's probably my favorite to watch.

(He lost to Golovkin twice though)

A true Champion would know in his heart that he lost the first GGG fight and was just plain lucky. Of course he is not going to say "Award it to the other guy" BUT He should have the balls to admit he didnt win.

 

Just because I think he’s a D-Bag I still respect what he has accomplished as a boxer.

Kid is very active, stays in shape and has earned his spot in the books.

Now do I agree with most of his opposition he has picked through like some left over hookers—Mmmmemh— However for every 2 or 3 lame fights he will out of the blue impress me with picking a real challenge for himself.
