Just thinking - obviously Sky have now said they will cover all shows and not just their own, but they are really hammering the coverage so far compared to when Warrington fought Martinez the other week, or Conlan vs Wood. I know this is a much bigger fight and that might just be it but thinking about it, Fury could very easily return to Sky. Fury is in all reality, a Top Rank fighter rather than a Warren fighter. Top Rank have signed up with Sky and are putting their shows on Sky regularly, as well as letting their boxers come over and fight on these shows (Ramirez on the Taylor undercard for example.) If Fury is out of contract with Warren, the switch back onto Sky PPV is a no brainer for him - he’ll make a killing, sell as much if not more PPVs than AJ did on the platform and for me be the UKs most followed boxer (if he isn’t already.) Top Rank know there is a lot of money in the UK just off their support alone, with Taylor and Fury on their books they have the foundation to really build a footing. Disclaimer - I did see that Fury said he isn’t doing another interview with Sky after the Kinahan questions yesterday but as is the case with Tyson he’ll regularly change his mind.
Unfortunately in todays IFL interview he has confirmed that Saturday will be his final fight before retirement. A real shame, think of the tens of millions he could give to charity if he fought on. He also said he’ll delete his IG and just wants to be left alone (I checked and it definitely wasn’t an old Bellew interview I was watching by mistake).
To be honest it does sound like he is serious about retiring. I'd he doesn't face the winner of AJ v Usyk then it's a massive shame and a huge letdown for us boxing fans
Return? he has never been on Sky. What he means by retiring is he is not signing a new deal. He will go solo for the Ngannou fight (assuming he gets passed Whyte). Financial move. He then has the option as champion emeritus to come back whenever he wants.
Take what comes out of fury’s mouth with a pinch of salt. there were grumblings that Fury had agreed a deal with probellum after the top rank deal expires. But my guess is the kinahan sanctions have put paid to that.
Furys talks and talks and about 90% of it you can ignore. A massive crowd at Wembley, win and retire I could see it.... a good career for sure and he's made his money you would think. I can't help but think Fury would want to fight the winner of AJ Usyk he would fancy that surely. Huge fight against his era of fighter. He could be undisputed then retire.... We'd never hear the end of how good he was and i think Fury would like that. I can't see a man of size and how out going he can be simply stepping out of the limelight. AS for which channel he ends up on if he does fight again...it will be who ever pays him most....
Quite a few of his early fights were on Sky if I remember correctly and the Klitschko PPV certainly was.
Sorry, I meant he has never featured as a Sky/Matchroom fighter, Mick only used the PPV platform he was still under Hennessey the whole time.
