After the KO of White, he climb the ladder for me with the best resume in HW. And while i still believe his resume is lacking big time and could have been way better, there is no one with a better one then him, and he is also undefeated. AJ already had 2 loses in his 3 fights, which hurts his resume. And to be fair even if he beats Usyk(pretty much because of the circumstances), he may still be behind, because of the loses. Usyk has insane resume, but at CW, at HW it's lacking for obvious reason. But even if he beats AJ again, Fury will still be ahead. As i have always said i always try to be unbias, whether i like or not the X or Y guy. Saying that you got to give it to Fury, he not only beats Whyte, he KO him badly.
After the Whyte win it can't be denied. It's easily better than Joshua's But he knows Usyk would beat him which is why he's retiring. Too much work, and too much skill.
He still needs the Usyk fight to solidify himself as the best of this era. There's no one else for him, he would toy with guys like Joyce and Parker.
He need to fight both AJ and Usyk, and then it will be crystal clear who Number 1, number 2 and number 3 are.
He already did. Usyk has a better PfP resume, but most of it is at cruiser. Fury's resume was always better than Joshua's. Their best win is both Klitschko, but Fury beat the better version. As for their second win, really, probably Ruiz, Parker or Povetkin is better than Wilder, but Wilder was perceived as their fellow top three guy, and perception is everything. Joshua has more quality wins, but so what? And really, what does any of that matter because Joshua lost twice. So, with a few footnotes, he always did.
If he is level below he won't have a problem beating him. AJ was the man for quite some time. And it's in top 3 in the division, so yeah he has to fight him.
Here where the problem come with Klitschko. I don't think that was the better version. Also landing 1-2 more arm shots per round, eh i won't call it the better win. Also for me Kltischko was way better prepared(though obviously even more aged/declined) for Joshua. He had problem with his wife/girlfriend at that time and he just have become a father, and obviously wasn't at good state. Also he was just not engaging enough at all. Against Joshua he was ready, and let his punches go. You can claim it was because of the opponents and so on, but for me that was not the reason. And people loves to bring that Klitschko was 41 against AJ and inactive for a 17 months, but yeah because of who exactly was inactive ? Let's not forget that Fury ducked the rematch with Klitschko, and that was the reason for the inactivity. This hurt Fury resume if one is looking at it unbiased. So, no for me AJ had a better resume before Fury - Whyte. But now it's clearly Fury, and both AJ loses hurt.
Sorry. Guys don't get better at 40 with a year and a half inactivity. And if you didn't notice, Fury didn't almost get knocked out. He fought the better version, and he had the better result. You can disagree...I respect it. But very few people are going to agree with you, I think.
Usyk has the best resume. He has the best win in the heavyweight division In Joshua. Fury best win is a past it Wlad, who joshua himself then managed to KO. That is why Fury needs to fight Usyk if he wins the rematch with Joshua.
He was never the man. Fury had always been the man. Joshua being a hype job doesn't mean he was ever the man of the division. Fury has been the lineal champ the whole time.
He already did when he destroyed Deontay Wilder in their rematch in 2020. I’m glad more people are finally seeing it now though.
