So imagine Dillian Whyte didn't get his fake injury and faced Otto Wallin. How would today's Dillian Whyte versus Otto Wallin look? Explain your thought process...
Wallin boxes his head off. Cement feet, uninspired- Whyte would look like he did against Fury. Getting his head boxed off. Whyte went down from a grazing shot from Fury, so maybe Wallin would have even knocked out this version of Whyte.
Would go with Wallin on points based on last night's showing. Sure, styles make fights and all that, but Whyte really looked clueless against Fury and I don't see him looking much less clueless against Wallin. Probably would have been a closer fight that might have had a robbery on the cards to give it to Whyte given it's unlikely Wallin would have scored a KO though.
Wallin is a solid southpaw boxer. If Whyte showed up he could get a win come behind KO, but quite easily be schooled and decisioned.
Whyte faked an injury to get paid vs Fury and was still whining despite hitting the lotto for a guy with his skillset.
I quite fancied Wallin after his performance against Fury and Brezeale but he was absolutely woeful against Sokolowski. Whyte UD.
I've never really seen the big deal about Wallin, doesn't punch hard, not quick, no head movement, slow feet, sure he gave an unmotivated Fury a few rough rounds and cut him but fact is he lost and as soon as Fury stepped it up it was a one sided fight again. Chisora has made a career in looking good losing, Wallin to me has yet to prove he's much better than the likes of Chisora or Jennings another guy who had a good losing effort but then showed nothing else after that. So until Wallin shows me something more than the Fury fight, I'd still favour Whyte. Though I do think Whyte would struggle with his size and would look bad winning.
