I have commented many many times to say a boxer leaving our sport with health and wealth is the way to go, getting hit in the head is not a healthy thing to do, and i applaud any fighter who does "exit stage left" with those little grey brain cells intact, even if others think they should just fight one more time.

I answered no to "Should Dillian Whyte retire now" as boxing is Whytes profession, so only he knows what his mind, body and motivation is like, and who am I to suggest another guy should stop his means of putting food on the table. (other than if showing signs of neurological damage).

As you state there is no shame in losing to Fury, he is king of the hill at present in most folks opinion.

A negative for Whyte is there is now a proven game plan that could bring about his defeat, the uppercut, if Whyte stays boxing, the up and coming young guns are going to try and exploit this and endeavour to enact it.

Whyte indeed could hang around on the off chance of the champs leaving our sport, he still is young enough, but would say he is going to have to prove his worth again, as last nights performance by him prior to being parted from his consciousness was not impressive at all.

Yes, I would like to see him retire after yesterdays performance.

we should not trear Whyte lightly here, when we speak about how Whyte has the best record for any fighter prior to a title shot... that street works both ways and Whyte has all the experience he needed to perform at his best yesterday and he failed miserably.

Did’t learn from past mistakes, made the same amateurish moves and wild swings as he did early in his career. Didn’t learn from the Povetkin loss, still switches off and isnt fully focused on whats happening.

Many heavyweights could have performed better than Whyte yesterday who looked like a top 50 fighter rather than a top 5.

He deserved to get KOd in that fashion because he clearly didnt prepare well or take the fight seriously enough.

253 pounds of brawn absolutely wasted. Bruce Lee was right when he said whats the point of having useless excess muscle.

Everything in Whytes journey culminated to last nights performance and he blew it.

I appreciate you squaring with reality, but in truth he just lost to someone a whole lot better than he is. Fury is clearly better than everyone in the HW division except maybe Usyk, so there's no shame in that. Whyte has had a very good career and can likely get one more 7 figure payday. Next loss is time to retire.

I hear what you are saying, but it is just another pointless fight that carries no value to the division, just value and income for themselves via another fan fleecing, the way i see it now is he got to the mandatory spot and waited and waited for his shot, took it and got his pot of gold and that should be it for him now, i never knock any fighter for climbing between those ropes and they deserve every penny they get, but he has surpassed his pay grade here and done rather well for himself.

There's a big difference in the fighter choosing to want to be a gate keeper to a " boxing fan" saying that a boxer should become a gate keeper and getting starched out by up n comers. What boxing fan would want to see a top boxer getting beaten up by fighters that wouldn't of stood a chance in their prime? Obviously this happens all the time in boxing, but as a boxing fan it does leave a distaste in my mouth.

Have you boxed before because you seem very disrespectful in the way you speak about boxers?

As long as they cut the crap about him being a star, being a world level fighter and he agrees to be the opponent on certain occasions, he can still deliver entertaining scraps and make money.

    I wouldn’t mind seeing Parker/Whyte 2, Whyte/Chisora 3, maybe even Whyte/Helenius 2 as I think Robbie can do better in the rematch.

His ego would have taken a huge hit last night, he's not the elite level / star he thinks he is.

He's the next level down and he likely realised that when Fury was walking to the ring.

I was semi joking and semi serious tbh. I mean Chisora himself has fallen short and still makes good money. Whyte before last night had generally been competitive he just looked very poor and Tyson never really looked in any trouble. I think it was just a bad style matchup.
I think you maybe right. maybe Dillian knew he wouldn't win and was just looking for a cashout fight. maybe that explains wanting a lot more in negotations and being silent on the build-up. I don't know but he was definately off last night and very slow and lethargic.

That's fine. I happen to enjoy good KOs - the more brutal, the better. Whyte continuing his career is virtually certain to provide that, and therefore I favor it. He also has an interest in doing this, as it is his job.

He should thank Hearn for eternity. He made him a fortune, and none of it was based on talent. People will look back years from now in disbelief and shock at the fact a genuine plodder/bum hosted like 5 PPV's and made millions. Incredible. Genuinely.

To be fair, he looked dismal in all his previous fights too but won against similarly limited opponents. It is unfair to expect him to raise his game by several levels, especially when he already has been found wanting when stepping up in the past. He is what he is.
