Funny how Whyte has been labelled a domestic level plodder on here for some time yet as soon as fury beats him it somehow elevated him to some kind of ATG status

How is this even a discussion?

Lennox Lewis obviously. Fury hasn’t actually fought anyone yet. Klitschko was way past it at that point. Wilder is over rated. Everyone else so far is a nobody.

If he beats Joshua, then he still wouldn’t be better than Lewis. If he beats Usyk he still wouldn’t be better than Lewis. Usyk started as a middleweight and is a natural light heavyweight/cruiserweight somewhere in between.

Fury just doesn’t belong in the conversation of ATG but will be second to Lewis of UK fighters and quite far behind. I believe people will speak highly of him for years to come simply because of a great comeback story and mental health awareness.

Similar to Muhammad Ali, he is not the best heavyweight of all time or even of USA but stood for something outside of boxing. He is seen as the greatest because of the bigger picture, not purely because of his boxing.

Fury simply doesn’t have the elite opponents available to be recognised as great.

Does that make Riddick Bowe feather-fisted then?

    No it’s not

He’s miles off being as good as Lewis

Fury has fought a very poor version of Wlad and a bloke who’s the biggest con job in Boxing history
He’s had a total of 5 World Championship fights and made just 2 defences of a World Title

He’s miles off even if he beats Usyk & Joshua

Lennox Lewis also fought a lot of bad challenges. And lost to 2 fighters who were average very average. So it is close.
What is his best 3 wins?

Vlad hadn't lost in years and Fury schooled him in his own yard. Wilder had knocked out everyone he faced pretty much and Fury beat him. I don't think he as good as Lewis but he's getting close.

Golota got robbed against Chris Byrd and John Ruiz. Those were 2 potential world class wins and Lewis trashed him in 1 round

He would do the same thing to Whyte.

Lewis would not perform a boxing masterclass against Whyte, just an absolute 20 second demolishion job

You were making some decent points regarding Fury but completely undermined yourself with what you said about Ali. Ali is seen as the greatest because of what he did in the ring, full stop. It’s what he did in the ring that added so much justification to his out-of-the-ring stances, not the other way around.

Fury would have been ranked among the best in any era. He would have adjusted to the better competition. He is a great fighter.

Whyte does not add much extra to Fury's record.

Win against Klitschko and 3 against Wilder are the cornerstones of Fury's status. No losses to Rahman or McCall plodder type.

Fury beat a prime unbeaten beast in Wilder three times imo (twice by stoppage due to concussive punches) and the first time after a three year lay off and all the documented problems. I'm struggling to find comparable Lewis wins. In fact there aren't any. The double header vs a faded Holyfied? I don't rate those wins near the Wlad Klit win in Germany. The man who'd dominated the division for 9 years. Whyte IS better than McCall or Rahman btw.

    Lewis wins?
Holyfield; lot of miles on clock, 3 losses already, 37 year old, started professional at light heavy.
Vitali Klitschko : has record padded no better than Wilder's, Lewis went life and death won on cuts no knockdown.
Mercer? Plodder 6'1 losses to old Holmes and almost win in Lewis fight.
Iron Mike on Prozac or somethin and weed about 15 year after peak.
David Tua left hook only about 5'9 plodder!
