It looks bad for Fury if he retires without fighting the Usyk-AJ 2 winner…

I’m a huge Fury fan, have been for a very long time but it looks bad for him if he retires without fighting the Usyk-AJ 2 winner which will very likely be Usyk. He’s a brilliant fighter Fury, got a case for being an ATG but there will always be question marks if he doesn’t fight the only other elite heavyweight of his generation. He’s got more than enough to go for one more so it’d look like a duck if he doesn’t face the talented Usyk and go for that undisputed. There’s no other way to look at it.

He won't retire. He's just attention seeking. There's no way he retires without becoming undisputed.

I'm sure he'd care how it looked too... in fact I found a small film of him thinking about it right after destroying Whyte:

    Fury's fought 2 fights since AJ v Usyk 1, scored 2 KOs.
I don't think it looks too bad.
    He can retire.
Looks like they both already retired!

Since when has Fury been waiting for either Usyk or AJ?

    Never is the answer

AJ keeps getting KO'd & Usyk is a cruiserweight who got his hands on the golden goose due to opportune timing.

And yet, if Fury fought Joshua or Usyk and knocked him out in the first round (spark out)
some people on here would say it was a dive, a weak opponent in a weak era, a lucky
shot, floppy gloves, poisoned water, voodoo curse....................

He’s mentioned AJ countless times and it’s clear to see Usyk is elite. But, the main target should be undisputed and one of those two guys will be in the way of it

    Why would it look bad?
Fury has won WBA, WBO, IBF, WBC and lineal titles
The titles he doesn't wear at this time are the ones he vacated
Usyk didn't come up from CW looking for Fury. He went after the Joshua fight

Also how long is he supposed to wait around?
When are Usyk and Joshua fighting even?

I agree. It's only 1 fight and he's still in his prime, he should take it or there will always be a question mark. It would be different if there wasn't a consensus no. 1 challenger. He's a strange guy though, I'm pretty sure he's just drawing attention and we will see the fight next year.

There is only a consensus #1 challenger because they have the titles Fury vacated.
Joshua if he hadn't lost to Usyk he would be the #1 challenger
I can't recall many calling for an Usyk/Fury fight when in Usyks previous fight he was having a tough fight against a fighter Fury stopped when prime
This really does seem to me that people are taken in by titles. Could be wrong, but how it seems

undisputed is a load of tosh anyway

Fury was undisputed the moment he beat Wlad without dropping a round, because Wilder had the WBC belt hostage means otherwise? and then the IBF stripped Fury 10 days later anyway and gave the belt to some bum who AJ bought it off.

These belt organisations can suck a lemon. A big fat hairy lemon.

Fury has been saying all week belts, legacy, undisputed it really means nothing to him because he's won it all before. He's had every belt they can throw at him.

The only thing that will get Fury out of bed in the morning is if he wants the challenge of Usyk which is a bout that requires tactical excellence, round by round basis.

Well either way I consider Usyk, and to a lesser extent AJ legit threats to him and would be disappointed if he doesn't fight the winner.
