I have to agree. He never once performed anything above strong plodder level but was hyped as world class and on the big pay events as top of bill. Hearn made miracles for him. Honest opinion he never looked better than a Danny William British type heavyweight.

Chisora has an iron chin, Whyte doesn't. Helps too have a chin if your gonna go gatekeeper.

I agree about Chisora being more durable.
I dunno maybe learn to defend uppercuts? I think he needs to remedy that weakness otherwise everyone he fights moving forward will just tee off on him. You would think after the first time that happened he would seek to learn a tweak to his style in order to reduce that risk. Some people never seem to learn though.

Hearn felt bad for him because AJ was centre of attention and golden boy, so to keep Whyte sweet he created this fake narrative that he was gunning for Wilder, was so hard done by and was a PPV fighter.
He was a bum and beat nobody of note. Couldn't even throw a punch without falling over his own feet, constantly turned up a fat mess and ducked real fights in Ortiz and Wallin. That's the real story, not this 'road warrior, have gum shield, will travel' pish he spouts.

Yup it was definately a cash out, he could have gone other routes but stuck with the WBC one to get it, as limited as he is you can not blame him.

He's a thick *******. A tough game brawler with good power. Every fight Whyte looked like he could go, giving himself whiplash missing hooks and right hands. I think he's done now anyway, I don't think he stays about to be a Victim of Hrgovic or Yoka or somebody. He hasn't got the same mentality as Chisora who loves to fight and is abit tapped in the head. Lol

Surely Whyte will still retain his mandatory position for the WBC title after this loss if that chap from Tuscaloosa is ranked #1 after coming off back-to-back savage stoppage defeats?

I have no problem with Whyte continuing his career. He's still good enough. What I had a problem with is a certain poster saying Whyte should continue to box to get starched out. That in my opinion as a boxing fan leaves a distaste, a bit disrespectful. Boxing is a gentlemen sport, and that is not a gentlemen thing to say. Anyway each to their own. I'm a boxing fan who wishes the boxers the best and hopefully they remain as safe as possible.

He probably should see if fury usyk Joshua and wilder continue on

There might be a brief window where he could win a fractured title if guys retire and he gets a favorable match up for a vacant belt

I'm not one of these hero-worshipping boxing fans. I pay good money to watch fights, and I want to see KOs, the more definitive the better. Guys like Whyte or Wilder, with their solid punching power and suspect chins, give me what I pay to see.

    Brutal yet honest.

    Is Whyte unteachable?

No reason to retire per se. As others have said, there are still potential fights with Joshua, Wilder, maybe a rematch with Parker. All of which would make sense. Heck, he should probably give Wallin the fight he stepped back from.

One thing he should do though, is retire from the WBC rankings.
