Joe Joyce vs Joseph Parker is set for July 2nd

I'll be rooting for Parker (no surprise there!) and he was improved last time out. But, I think Joyce is a favourite in this one, mainly because of his stamina. When Parker is active and energetic he'll be doing well, but in the mid-late rounds when he's tired and Joyce keeps throwing consistently, it'll be a struggle.

 

Very good matchup, Joyce has a great chin, but will he be able to take Parkers punches for a full 12 rounds? Can Joyce walk down Parker like the frankenstein monster he looks like in the ring and possibly impose his will and take out Parker late? So many questions leading into this fight for me. Ill be rooting for Parker though.

 

Good fight and Joyce will win...

 

For a guy whose body clock is ticking away, Joyce sure is taking the journey to fight those at the top table at a leisurely pace, by time he faces Parker it will have been nigh on a year since he fought in the squared circle.

I think Parker has the beating of Joyce as long as Parker doesn't go the bulking up route.

 

Looking forward to this scrap. I like both fighters, both are modest and very likable blokes but I'll be rooting for and expecting Big Joyce to win.

Along with the Usyk/AJ re-match if it happens OK, it's looking like July's gonna be a good Heavyweight month. I hope the undercards on both fights are better than the pile of Shlt we had to endure on Saturday night!

 

I'm picking Joe on this one.

Great news, one of the best matchups that can be made in the HW division. Perhaps THE best non-title matchup.

Joyce should be the slight favorite, but I will be rooting for Joe 2.0. He is going to need to really take some chances and throw some homerun shots with everything he has behind them to try and crack that big 'ol chin of Joyce's.

 

That's the only 'negative' I can think of if you like colourful pressers & build ups.

But hey, you never know. lol

 

Good matchup. I'd like to see the winner fight Wilder, winner of that to face Joshua or Usyk.

 

Joyce's defense is underrated. Guys thought he'd just eat everything Dubois threw flush, too. Instead, he rode, parried or slipped a lot of what came his way. Kind of guy who raises his game for bigger tests.

 

I think Parker wins. The shot that gave Chisora trouble in the 2nd fight was the uppercut to the body and I think its the shot that slows Joyce. Joyce is the far bigger man in there with a massive engine and is a massive volume puncher as we all know, but he always goes up top, so I think Parker needs to slip and counter to the body, and Jennings showed how vulnerable Joyce was once he was caught in the body, Joyce really struggled afterwards and had to grind out a tough points win. Parker is much more aggressive under Lee and will look to stand toe to toe, which I think he'll have success with against Joyce.

Parker by decision.

 

Lot's of people were over-rating Dubois, and under-rating Joyce. The reality was Dubois was being fast tracked way too quickly, with high rankings being purchased for him. Also, though Joyce came away with the stoppage against Takam, in fairness, he was getting lit up at times, which is not a good sign. It's a whole different matter stepping up against Parker.

Two good competitors, with granite chins, but it's Parker on points for me. I think we saw him turn the corner in Chisora 2.
