Fury by 8-10 round stoppage. Mike would lunge for a few rounds and might do a little damage, but Fury would reconstruct his face with jabs and crosses behind it. Anyone who thinks 6'9" Fury would be an underdog against 95% of boxers who have ever laced it up are just biased.
Mike. He'll have Fury running, hugging & grappling for dear life. He avoids getting KO'ed - but loses a wide UD. Looks similar to the Tucker & Bonecrusher fights.
This is a great post. I am one of the people here who thinks Mike Tyson is overrated for what he did but he was an excellent boxer and a technician. People often misjudge him by thinking he is a brute puncher but he was basically created to beat boxer, boxer-puncher types. If someone like Wilder (who telegraphs his right hand 1-1.5 seconds ago before throws the punch) can knock Fury bunch of times, i don't see how Fury could even go to distance against prime Tyson who could throw insanely fast combos from unregular angles.
Mike Tyson is the most overrated boxer ever. He was chinny, lacked stamina, lacked heart and could never beat the elite. Even in his so called little prime ( the shortest prime ever) he got destroyed by the bum Buster Douglas. He lost loads of times. Fury is just too big, too strong physically and mentally, too skilled, too tough, too fit for the overrated Mike Tyson. All signs point to a Tyson Fury win in the second half of the fight, when Mike Tyson will be gassing and losing heart.
Id say the 95-96 version of Tyson would beat fat Fury to a pulp. That fat body would turn into jello, as Iron Mike rips him to the body and uppercuts up top.
How was he chinny? You do realise 3 of his 5 losses came when he was basically finished right? Lewis and the other two randoms who beat him, that was like 2002-2005 Tyson who was basically a joke at that point. Tyson took some extreme punishment and survived. In his prime years, it took some big punishment to finish him off. He's not the only great boxer to get KO'd by a lesser opponent. Lacked heart? What you smoking? He didn't lack heart, he was simply ****ed in the head.
Cunningham is better at countering on the back foot than Tyson + That was getting on for 10. years ago, Fury is 10x better now, Fury stepped in with a right hand which he didn’t set up and disregarded Defense, he hasn’t made a mistake like that since
Tony Tucker was upright, less versatile, and more predictable than Fury and that suited Mike Tyson because he like to slip punches and time opponents rhythms, that’s how he ko’d lots of his opponents by timing their movements and it’s not easy to time Fury’s movements as we all know, and it was possible to time Tyson’s, Fury would ram a stiff jab into him the whole fight and lean on him, push him back in the clinch, hold his feet in the centre of the ring, when Tyson’s trying to come in, Fury would push him away and completely offset Tyson’s gameplan, Tyson likes to fight in a rhythm and getting hit with a stiff jab by someone 40-50lbs heavier and pushed every time you try to slip in range completely offsets your rhythm, this is what would happen
For the record Cunningham was on the front foot when he floored Fury, Fury was throwing a sloppy one two and got caught.I'm not sure why you mentioned that but whilst on the subject he still throws that sloppy one two it's just that his level of opposition is so poor that they don't capitalise on his flaws. Also Fury has been caught loads of times and been down since then, 4 times by the universally recognised poor boxer in deontay wilder, if prime Tyson catches him he isn't getting off the hook
He was moving forward when he threw, but he used back foot movement to draw him in, and moved forward at exactly the right time, Fury would always be expecting Mike Tyson to come forward + modern Fury would dominate Cunningham
