Tysons so called 'prime' was : He won the world title in 1987 and lost in 1990 just 3 years later aged 23 to the poor fighter Buster Douglas. No way in a million years would a prime Fury lose to anyone of Douglas level.

Tyson had a poor chin. Knocked out by cans his whole career. And he couldn't adapt to save his life, very one dimensional fighter.

Tyson Fury beat the best fighters of his era ( Klitschko and Wilder). Mike Tyson lost to the best of his - Holyfield and Lewis... who destroyed him and showed him for what he was.

Tyson was thwarted by his reach but was the most skilled heavyweight of all-time, at cruise he would have been unbeatable, he was far quicker than anybody Fury has fought and took shots from a powerpuncher like Ruddock (uppercuts).

I know, I’m saying that the Cunningham vs Fury fight has no representation of Fury today

Wlad was old and Wilder didn`t have Mike`s skill level.

I wouldn't regard the Botha fight as coming through adversity. Yes Tyson was losing, but not getting badly beaten, and he landed a punch, a beautiful punch that ended the fight. That's Tyson for you. Tyson wasn't knocked down. He wasn't getting beaten up. The Ruddock fight was a much tougher fight for Tyson than Botha. Tyson performed very poorly againt Botha.

He certainly wasn't chinny LOL... Most of his stoppage losses came through exhaustion, not concussion. Tyson had an incredible ability to absorb punches. The problem was that his dicipline and the mental side of Tyson didn't match his incredible boxing ability, if it did then he would of achieved a lot more in boxing.

If Deontay Wilder could floor Fury multiple times, prime Tyson would be also able to. And, notwithstanding Fury's extraordinary recovery abilities, given Tyson's finishing ability I think the more likely outcome is that Tyson's left hook takes Fury down in the first half of the fight, and Tyson does not give him a chance to recover but finishes him off. But I think there is a 40% chance Fury survives these storms and scores a decision win or a late TKO. Fascinating matchup.

I should also add that I would pick young Tyson against most heavyweight champions of the history, with the exception of a few with really solid chins (for instance I think Ali, Holyfield or Vitaly Klitschko could have beaten a young Tyson). I also think young Tyson would have stopped Lewis.

How is Iron Mike landing that left hook in the same way Whyte couldn't even throw his

The second Mike gets close he is clinched into submission.

Wilder is the opposite to Mike. He is a tall rangy sniper fighter. Fury had to close the distance to shut his offence down.

Fury would have Mike tired and complacent after 4 rounds.

Tyson's lefthook (pre-90s Tyson) was lighning fast. You simply cannot compare them to Whyte's left, they are lightyears apart.

And btw his overhand right was also very fast (bear in mind also Cunningham floored Fury with that punch). Tyson had a very good eye too. I am not saying it is a given that he would take out Fury, but I think it is more likely than not that he would.

Post-Douglas Tyson would lose 10 times out of 10.

I don't care how fast his hook is or big his penie length is.

Positioning with the feet is required, Fury will not allow it.

No man 5'10" 210 pounds is beating Tyson Fury.

He could have beat debut Fury pre 2010's who wasn't as quick on his feet and would let people position dangerously on him.

    Reality check:
    The size difference is huge.

    Dempsey v Willard = 14cm
    Haye v Valuev = 22cm
    Chagaev v Valuev = 28cm
    Tyson v Fury = 28cm

Mike Tyson, as great as he was, was not at his best against men who were both taller and heavier than him. This is almost an impossible task

Maybe but he would have destoyed Willard and Valuev with his eyes shut and hit harder than tyhe heavier Fury.
